Congrats on your new HD800s 🥳 I'll say this…Every time I thought they sounded good with one of my amp/dacs and every time I upgraded the dac/amp they sounded even better. I have a pair of HD800s with new oem ear pads but tried switching to ZMF lambskin a few days ago. I will not go back to oem ear pads. ZMF is really like oem but retains clarity and soundstage and gives a little more bass and comfort is on a completely different level.

Bro, if you ever wanna completely unlock those headphones, I would suggest getting the Dekoni Hybrid elite pads. They add comfort and give a bit more bass without harming the space and imaging really that much in my experience. Also, getting a cheap tube amp like the Schitt Valhalla II… for music the image and timbre become intoxicating. It warms up so much and they sound holographic. The analogy I use listening to more orchestral tracks (one of HD800S strong suits) is like poking your head like a meerkat up out of a hole in the front of the stage of a full orchestra while they perform. “Close your eyes and you’re there” kind of experience

A lot of people talk about those ear pads I probably will order them soon I just purchased the zennhieser HDV 820 amplifier you could check out that video. I found that the amplifier works really well with the Zennhieser HD 800 S.

@@criptocolorlightstech5292 I'll check that video out! I tried that at a show for a while. It does sound really good. Typically I listen to my HD800S on solid state, but you owe it to yourself to at least try a tube amp with them at some point. Cheers mate!

@@criptocolorlightstech5292 The best tube pairing I tried was the macintosh MHa200, what a beast, but that’s $2500. The Valhalla 2 is a decent OTL amp and you can tube roll, but it’s only like $300, but gives you most of the experience. Tube amps pair really well with high impedance headphones (audio engineering and stuff). It warms up the sound and gives it a holographic sound. Very hard to describe but you’ll definitely hear it after a bit of listening. It’s just more natural and engaging sounding, like an effortless quality. Some of these SS amps really start to sound clinical/ artificial.

@@ericbratkiw6909 you should be able to have a USB cord connected to the back of the amp to in front of the PS five and then the optical wire connected to the amp to the back of your TV and then you press the PlayStation button click on output device and click on HDMI device TV and see if you get sound like that
