I too was at Del Mar on Aug 7, 2010 for one reason; I had to see the Superhorse Zenyatta. I live 30 minutes away, yet I met people that day who drove from Arizona for the same reason. Pre-race on the track Zenyatta walked slowly along the Grandstand railing occasionally stopping so her adoring public could snap a good photo of her while the other horses were doing their pre-race warmups. Superhorse, Supercool. The Best I've every seen.

I was there for that one, what a thrill! Love that mare.

Fun Fact, Zenyatta beat these filly's without any workouts before the race. She hated Del Mar's track and refused to gallop on it. John said shed lope around for about a half mile and then shoot the gap right back to the barn...lol

Mike Smith: You ready, pal? Zenyatta: We got this, buddy. Mike Smith: Whenever you're ready, then.

Might as well pin Zenyatta to the opposite rail the entire race. She'll still win.

Look at her pedigree, Mr Prospector, Native Dancer, NASHUA!!, Princequillo!! Nasrullah!! She stood 17 hands! If we had a time machine, and could breed her to the other greats like Secretariat or Man O War, what a fantastical creature we could get! But genetics isn't that straightforward is it, as we know, enes can be a hit or miss thin...but when it hits!!!
@foots-qt4pk2 жыл бұрын
@@truthxposed8975 She is definitely a very special girl. Secretariat would have made the cut being 16 hands, and I believe Man O War was also 16 hands.

They said that her speed "closing in the stretch" was 40+ mph!

Even at the snail's pace that they set.....25.2....50.1.....1:15......1:39 for the mile ? R U Kidding me? Made no difference....."the Queen" still got it done.....wow.

+thevmanvj Very true and even in her last race where she came second, she still almost won. It wasn't really like a loss at all, because we all know she could have beaten that race because she practically did by a hair.
@iheartpanic003 жыл бұрын
She didn't lose that race. She was bottled up. If she had running room blame never would have beat her. I consider it a win and I hate it when people say blame beat her like he was some great horse. He wasn't. He got lucky that she was trapped for so long.

What's the spelling for the second-place horse? Sounds like Renterville, but I can't find it in a search. She ran a helluva race to be that close to Z.
