When I first watched mobile suit Gundam Origin, I saw Zeons experimenting mobile machines (Mobile Worker) and then My favorite part is the Scientific Engineers saw a video of The prototype mobile suit taking out the Federation's crew ships.

Developers was an eye opener, pretty great historical Manga for the UC timeline.

gundam the origin is in its own universe separate from the original MSG. The same thing for Thunderbolt. In short there are now three different UC universes/timeline. The Original MSG (Z, ZZ, F91, Victory, 0080, 0083), Gundam the Origin movies/manga and Gundam Thunderbolt OVA/manga

Issue with zeon tech is the armored cabling system. Since they cant figure out a way unlike EFF mobile suit. Shoulder attached shield and live round ammunition is another problem. Also the zaku fully embraced the mono eye with a coded lense, not like EFF Gm with a fully coded shield protecting the mono eye with in. The cooling system in zeon mobile is rather odd.. Is where the head is with vent sticks out like a mouth peice . To me is all about battle ready rather then solving problem.

I don’t think we can really argue that Zeon had experienced soldiers while the EF didn’t: -Originally we had been told that Zeon lost most of their skilled pilots during the early battles, mainly a result of them being caught in the blast of their nuclear bazookas. We can argue that nowadays this point is void, given that most modern depictions of these battles no longer include the use of nuclear weapons, but it still puts the precedent as why back then Zeon had lost such advantage. -Nowadays, the EF has many MS rolling out sooner than the Gundam in September, namely the RX-79[G] & RGM-79[G] were rolled out in August and the supposedly a pre-production of 42 units of the GM rolled out the very next month. We also have units like the RGM-79[E] in space. -Then we have cases like MS Igloo, where early on EF soldiers piloted captured Zakus to fight against Zeon. Games love making use of this idea to justify having early battles between the EF and Zeon, Code Fairy being the most recent example. In short, a couple of decades ago the explanation was that a Zeon had lost most of those skilled pilots that had been training in MS for a few years. Today, retcons to how the early battles play out cancelled out that explanation, but instead we have the EF rolling out many MS a lot earlier, not to mention using captured Zeon units even before that, thus giving them a lot more room to have train pilots with actual MS and many of them even getting first hand experience months before the end of the war. I would also argue that at this point Amuro seems like an unnecessary deus ex machine plot device, since ultimately the main shortcoming of the EF early on was the lack of MS and once they dress that problem, their superior resources and logistical muscle make give them the upper hand, making the need for giving them the strongest newtype of the OYW rather unnecessary. When you think about it, it’s a rather disheartening proposition: Zeon spends a lot of time & resources into their newtype projects, creating specialized equipment and weapons for them, and Amuro comes out of literally nowhere (Side 7 being essentially being the equivalent of a small town in the outskirts of the Earth sphere), and not only he suddenly gets newtype powers, but these get stronger than anyone else’s, even allowing him to beat newtypes that, even if they are not as strong as Amuro, they do are using mobile weapons specially designed to allow them to make better use of their abilities, in theory at least. The opposite case would be precisely the early OYW, where Zeon’s initial preparations with MS gave them the advantage against the vastly numerically superior EF forces. Anyway, overall I don’t think the EF was in “need” of a miracle solution to the war, since they both developed their own MS in rather short amount of time and used their vast resources to rebuild their space fleet, the infamous Vinson plan. I would even say that likely the opposite was true, where it would have made more sense plot-wise for Zeon to have such plot device to stand against a rebuilt EF fleet backed up by EF MS.

Personally, I will exclude Origin, but MS-05 (Zero Five) Zaku I, the first humanoid mobile weapon and mobile suit that the Zeon army boasts, is the origin of all MS after that. Also, at the same time, it competed with the EMS-04 Zudah, which boasts amazing acceleration performance with a Saturn engine, and was adopted. And it continued to be the main fighting force until the famous MS-06 (Zero Six) Zaku II was developed.

Thanks for the comment - the Zudah is sick!

From what I understand, Origins is a reboot/repurposing of the original UC series.
