Zimbabwean children born in SA are not rendered undocumented. It is the parent(s) responsibility to register the child with the Zimbabwean embassy/government. It's not the responsibility of the SA government to register the children on the Zimbabwean national registry. Having lived in 6 different countries, the VISAs are very clear on when you are expected to leave the country and what you are required to do by law in the country while you are there on a VISA. If you decide to buy property and do other things on a visa that does not allow you to do so, you are culpable, not the country that issued the VISA stipulating your rights thereunder. Zimbabweans are well aware of their rights under the ZEP Visa, yet they chose to undermine the criteria stipulated and now want to blame the SA government for choices they made. Just like the Angolans went home to Angola after their exemption permits ended, the Zimbabweans need to stop the entitled behavior and go home to build that fine nation of intelligent and educated people.

We cannot register South Africans as Zimbabweans. All children born in South Africa are South Africans. Boers and Britons registered their children as South Africans, Even Thuli Modensela was born in SA of Swazuland parents.
@MsWaters
@MsWaters Жыл бұрын
@@jameskillu9171 Thuli Madonsela was born in Joburg. It’s time we disabuse ourselves from the notion of stateless or undocumented children in SA. SA is not a birth right country and neither is Zimbabwe. A child of SA parents born in Zimbabwe is a South African. Similarly, a child born of Zimbabwean parens in SA, is Zimbabwean. The parents are obligated to go to their embassy or go back home to have the child registered on their national population data base. The child will then be issued with the country’s citizenship. What Zimbabweans and others are doing is they are trying to strong-arm the SA government into giving them citizenship. This is completely ridiculous. The SA government through Home Affairs issues a recognition of birth. This document is an official certificate to confirm that the child was born in SA. The Zimbabwean or other then needs to take it to their respective embassy/government for registration. It is not the duty of the SA government to go beyond that. There is no country in the world that does that. SA can’t do that because Zimbabweans and others want to take advantage and feel entitled to things they can’t even enforce in their own countries.

@@fananelsonmbambo9040 Correct. Also, we keep saying that we want a country that is lawful, yet we allow lawlessness from foreigners. The reality is that many of them come into SA knowing they are going to undermine our laws. We should not tolerate it from people who have rendered their own countries lawless and chaotic.

Yes we do but that has nothing to do with the Zimbabweans. Our low unemployment rate is because of government policies and stealing everything not nailed down which has destroyed every main infrastructure. Trains electricity roads education hospitals eg thembisa a billion rand stolen. SAA THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON. And now home affairs is a mess other married international foreigners to South Africans are also having issues.

This doesn't make sense, hardships are only related to Zimbabweans without thinking of SAns. Presently it's being revealed that gold from Zimbabwe is leaving in droves to Dubai...these are some of the things that make that country poor. Is temporary now interpreted as permanent. They should use visas that are there to regularity themselves. 😂😂😂😂

The government granted ZEP to Zim nationals without engaging South africans. South africans were not given an opportunity to give inputs on this matter that is affecting them. Now people are asking for public comments. The ZEP had a lifespan of 5 years. And the ZEP holders knew well that the permit was for 5 years. We love our brothers and sisters. However, It's like business owners are employing them for peanuts. That's why the unemployment rate is high in SA.

Our unemployment is high because we have a terrible government because of policies discourage international business's from doing business here etc etc etc . Please do not Blame Zimbabweans for the mess we are in. Our current government destroyed our country. Just look at our basic infrastructure. In actual fact Zimbabwe was an example to all of us what not to do but we put legislation in to kick the whites out now they are leaving with their business's and the skilled labour of all races are leaving for better opportunities.

You have a beautiful, resource rich country called Zimbabwe, make it work. Stop harassing people in their own country and telling them they are not citizens. When the Chinese have built Zimbabwe, you will be the first to run back and claim your rights as a citizens. You simply lack the skills, will and patriotism to build your country, You rather leave it to others to do so.

Yes let's consult. Make them legal. It's only 178 000. South Africa welcomed them 13 years ago don't hold it against them. Give them a fair chance to renew their permits legally but now a 4 year delay. Ridiculous.
@MsWaters
@MsWaters Жыл бұрын
The delay is due to Zimbabweans contesting the end of the ZEP and the SA government being graceful enough to give them more time to sort out their return home. I've never heard of another country tolerating such, having lived in 6 different countries on 4 different continents, the SA government needs to enforce the law if it wishes to have respect from citizens and foreigners.
