I realized that this fight is Venom's version of Spider-Man vs Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it has a happy ending because Anne doesn't die. It really upsets me that we'll never get The Amazing Spider-Man 3 where Peter could've been enticed by the symbiote to know that if he had it during the Goblin fight that Gwen would probably still be alive.
