My favorite since first riding it in 1966 when I was age ten. My parents, younger brother and I walked the entire park that first time in July or August of '66. The charm of Dorney Park in that era really shone forth at dusk when the lights began coming on. A stroll to get a Belgian Waffle ice cream sandwich would see us near the Arcade and the frighteningly named Bucket O' Blood. Then it was time to ride The Zephyr before doing anything else. My brother and I would be clamoring for it by the time the ice cream was gone.

I have been riding this train since I was a kid. I remember driving by the Care Bear Bridge, Laser, Cheetos Play area , the swan boats when they were in the area of Steel Force, and Journey to the Center of the earth. Next time one of you In the loop guys come to town I should give you a tour.

My family would park under the trees near that lake where those Swan Boats glided quietly on the water. We could return there for a late lunch after we walked through the park for three or four hours. Yeah, that was about right. I still have the vintage Coleman beverage jug and Coleman cooler we used. It's in excellent condition for being fifty-five years-old. The last time I was in that general vicinity was Sunday, August 12, 2001. I was there with my wife, daughter and son-in-law. I was a little way away from my group looking out on the area where the lake had been. The drained area looked like something in transition. I couldn't tell you what is there now.

Don't remember if I rode this or not when I was there. I recently rode a similar train at lakeside in Colorado. It rattled so bad and was deafening, it was a truly horrible experience.
