@FollowMyLine17 The export mirrors fold, are slightly larger, and have the turn signal repeater. Part numbers are 84639833 - Driver and 84639836 - Passenger.

Thanks! No difference between the two as the PDR hardware is underneath the passenger footwell, and the antenna for it is located underneath the dash.

Great question! This mirror gives you a much better view outside of the car. The mirror has three different zoom settings, and a few different angles. It allows you to see your blind spots when zoomed all the way out. If you watch my in-car track video, you can see the two different mirrors in action. Seems like this would only work with cars that have the reverse cam in the fin already? My 2019 Camaro does not have a camera in the fin it’s located above the license plate. Would love to do this not sure it’ll work on the 2019 though??

This was done on a 2018 without a camera in the fin. That is the entire point of the kit. This is not the reverse camera, this is a separate camera for the rear view mirror. This will absolutely work on your 2019.

With the price of the unit couldn't you just also get an aftermarket camera and install it to the in place fin already (if you car doesn't have one)? That way you save 1500$

I realize that this mod isn’t for everyone, and not within everyone’s budget. The factory fin on the 2016-2021 Camaro will not accommodate a camera. You would need the shell of the 2022+ fin, which unfortunately isn’t sold without the camera assembly. Sure, there are aftermarket options, but none that will integrate seamlessly like this one. My personal 2022 car has this already. It’s what made the owner of this 2018 SS 1LE decide to get this.

@@Timothy-en4ju I’ll have to take a look again at the 1SS and other variant fins, but I thought they had a crease in the middle at the back. Perhaps I may have the newer antenna mixed up with the previous style. Now I need to do more research. 😅 Just keep in mind, there ARE other electronics in the fin, and it serves a purpose, so I’m not sure an aftermarket unit would fit without causing interference with the other stuff in there.

Do you lose the dash screen rear view reverse camera when you do this?

Great question. Not at all. This is a full-time camera for the rear view of the car. The reverse camera still shows up on screen when you put the car in reverse.

I'm having trouble popping off the rear view mirror cover. Do you pry it open from the bottom slit or do you just use leverage from the top to slide it downward?

I used a panel tool that was angled, and pull it out and down from the top

This may sound like a dumb question, but do you think this would work on a 2023 Nissan Maxima SR? I have the camera on my duramax and would love to have it on my car but all other kits seem to be cheap overlapping mirrors and self tapping screw cameras. I’m not sure if the fins can be interchangeable and if rear view mirror mounts are universal.

Not a dumb question at all! My biggest concern would be to first see how your Maxima fin connects, and what is inside of the fin. For example, if your GPS, or radio antennas are in the fin, could the GM unit be used by finding the wiring diagram and cutting and splicing the wires together. Also, how does it physically mount to the car. Next, would be the mirror itself. I don’t believe mirrors use one universal mount, so you’d have to see how your Nissan’s mirror mounts to the glass or overhead console.

You will lose the OnStar and SOS mirror button functions by doing this upgrade. If you are in a collision, OnStar can still contact you and call in to make sure you are safe, and dispatch emergency services if needed.
