I think the most reasonable explanation is that the dragons inside them were over 80 years old. It's not like when they were inside Fairy Sphere, where their bodies were prevented from aging. They literally skipped those 400 years. But they still had Igneel and Metalicana inside them, who were centuries-old dragons.

@@rafaelmatos5851I believe that technically the barrier barred people from a certain year and older so they assumed anyone 80+. Hinting that the dragon slayers came from the past. But the dragon thing, if it was specifically an age restriction and not a date restriction, would also make sense. Either way, foreshadowing is foreshadowing.

@@tobex6626 It was not their age that stopped them because they did not age then they travel through time, Freed had put an extra rule in the runes that prevented dragon slayers to cross. Levy was able to cancel out that rule and allow them to enter the battle. Makarow could not join because Levy was not able to overturn the age rule.

@@Vegeta900X This is all false information. There was never any extra rule. It was stone statues and people over 80, people. So along with that, there’s also the fact that dragons can only be affected by dragon slaying magic. This was made abundantly clear in GMG. And no, Makarov passed out before Levy finished rewriting the runes. He never tried to pass afterwards as he was unconscious the whole time.

5:38 - If you think about it, that was the reason Natsu and Gajeel couldn't get past Freed's barrier back at the "Battle of Fairy Tail" arc. Since they are children from 400 years ago, they couldn't pass through a barrier that doesn't let people over 80 years old through.

I see a lot of confusion from people thinking that the reason for not crossing the runes is that they traveled and that is not the case, they could not cross because the dragons inside them were over 80 years old. They skipped those 400 years, they don't have them

It’s not confusion. That’s the fact. Only dragon slaying magic can affect a dragon. Freed isn’t a dragon slayer. It would not affect the dragons and Natsu and Gajeel would’ve been able to move. Added to this is the fact Mashima stated in an early bonus page about how he had Natsu’s/Gajeel’s ages as “?” and mentioned that there was a reason he did that. This obviously being the reason since he alluded to it being a pivotal part of the plot.

2:59 Leaving aside that how he explain later killing Zeref is the equivalent to die (I think Zeref feel like Natsu deserve to know their backstory and what's going to happen to him and if to pursue with his attack or just stop and let him continue with his plan) he probably just want to share his feelings with the person he did most of this for at the start Like, all this trouble begun because he was trying to revive Natsu, but then he had to give him away to Igneel and when they meet in the future he lost his memory, so they never really had a moment to bond with each other and share that brotherly feeling So he is trying to get some of that before he is gonna say goodbye to him forever

Did Leon just used normal blue on his ice magic? That usually Grey's color. Leon should have green blue ice. Or maybe he can do ice with diff colors. Or if its a mistake.

As far as ik, single hand magic is green ice, dual hand is blue ice. We saw that in on of the arc when leon used dual hands and the ice was blue.

Low-key this is such a mixed episode for me, because like, I love everything that's done in this episode however this technically does lead to a moment that i wasn't too happy with later in the arc so it's kinda mixed

@@Shiva-bi9in the fact this technically leads to Natsu one hitting zeref with the "Wild Flames of Emotion" like it's in character and it's by far not even the worst thing in the arc and the art for it in the manga and even the anime is actually pretty good. but even as a massive fairy tail stan, it could have ended better. I think if they somehow kept Igneel's flames or something and it was a one tap it would have been fine but the real result is mixed for me. (But hey it's still Massively better than the current events in 100YQ)

We know that the legion that supports Zeref is tremendous... But I trust the Wizards of Fiore and Fairy Tail... But with all due respect, those flashbacks and what Zeref revealed to Natsu are to die for, poor Happy and poor Natsu finding out. severe news.... True but in all honesty it was obvious that zeref was natsu's older brother seeing how only a brother would react the way zeref did to natsu every time they met by the way Happy is a boy.
