The key to zero G is to start with a lot of energy. In the 172 I usually like to begin the maneuver at 125kts, pull the nose up to about 30 degrees with about a 1.5-2G pull. Once you’re at 30 degrees you immediately push the nose down to zero G. I typically don’t like to go much past 5 degrees down because it can scare passengers to see a lot of ground out the front. You had the right idea but probably coulda been a bit quicker with pitching the nose up and immediately down. The more energy you start the zero g with, the longer you can be at zero g. Just my thoughts and looks like you had a fun flight!

You are right, I've since tried this a couple of times similar to what you describe with great success. It's a lot of fun

Wouldn’t 125kts be over The Va speed? I’ve also done a few attempts to zero gravity on a C172 but I’ve never able to make things flying inside the plane, I’m always afraid of doing abrupt movement above The Va speed
@hobie16133 жыл бұрын
@@leonardooliveira4328 125 is over VA but it’s not an abrupt maneuver if you’re gentle on the airplane. Also by the time you get the nose up enough you’ll be below VA. I’m not suggesting you go out and try that though either. I’m not a CFI but do have a lot more experience with maneuvering like that than the average Joe. The most important thing is if you’re not comfortable with it, don’t do it.

When I flew I pushed the nose down about 10 degrees XD

It always nice but weird to see your home airport on someone else's video. KFRG all the way!

She needs to hold her arm and hand rigid against the negative G. You were achieving the zero G and she was feeling it. Trouble is, her arm was also levitating due to the zero g. She needs to keep her arm and hand rigid and fight the arm movement of the zero G using her muscles. Then, the sweets would levitate relative to her hand.

Probably right, will remember that for next time. it was a lot of fun trying to get these to float

You ough to take a look at the 172 loading figures. There is not much in reserve but plenty if you follow Cessnas peformamce fiigures..I suggest you get a copy of the notes for the 172 and a prayer wheel. We don't roll 172,s into negative G. Mr. Cessna says NO read the manual.Keep in mind its a GREAT aeroplane and used across the world in thousands by sensible pilots.

I think NFI got rid of most of their 172 aircraft. It is now just a school for the rich. SR20 and SR22 aircraft that rent for as much as 365 per hr PLUS instructor. I heard it is now around 199$ per hr just for a 172 + CFI.

Yes, they are moving to Cirrus only fleet. I think there was even talk of acquiring a Cirrus Jet. Personally, I like the 172 but I've only flew the SR20 once so don't have much experience to draw on for comparison between the two. The 172 rates I think are probably close to what their competitors are charging at FRG. I dont think there is anyone else offering Cirrus rental/instruction at FRG so their pricing for that is harder to compare. Pilots like myself are gradually being priced out of FRG as a whole (I could not even find an available tie-down spot, let alone an affordable one).

@@ArtMJenB I rent from a flight school at FRG and I pay 165 per hour wet. It is a G1000 aircraft. I was just on nfi's ramp less than 2 hours ago and they have a red and white Vision jet sitting there. $1,600 per hour. The instructor rate is over 100 per hour. I have no idea why they even bothered to buy the jet no one is going to rent that thing. There are going to be 0 Airlines that are going to utilize a vision jet therefore no one is going to pay for the type rating
@ArtMJenB5 жыл бұрын
@@C172Pilotdude Wow! 1,600 per hour is a lot. In Florida or Las Vegas you can fly an L39 Fighter / Trainer Jet for a little more per hour (2hrs min) . When I was there the club rate for 172's was about 165 wet and you got a fixed discount towards the instructor cost each month. But there were monthly club dues, and I forget how the math worked out exactly but I think it became worth while when you rented 3 or more times per month and/or received at least 1hr instruction

@@ArtMJenB I will never fly at a school with membership dues. NFI is only for the rich now anyway. SR22 385$ per hr plus instructor if I remember correctly. It is an 800,000$ aircraft but most will never be able to afford that.
