The single biggest challenge of our time is the issue of world hunger. Currently, up to 828 million people suffer from food shortages, with 43.3 million facing a real risk of starvation. In extreme cases, prolonged food shortages can escalate into famine, a situation where large numbers of people experience severe food shortages, leading to starvation and death. The complicated problem of hunger calls for a multifaceted strategy. Here, I would like to offer the INVEST - REDUCE - AND INCREASE strategy to handle this problem.
Let us remember that every step we take towards ending hunger is a step towards building a better, more equitable future for all. Just as Bono stated, “If you want to eliminate hunger, everybody has to be involved”. It is our responsibility as the younger generation to together ensure that Zero Hunger is accomplished in the near future.
