It's because they were nerfed by the tree of life which stops all forms of reishi transmission in and out of the cage. The Auswhalen served as an artificial recharge as Lille barro corrected Oetsu that him damaging him was not because of a power up but was his natural ability. He only didn't use it coz he underestimated Oetsu at first from his statement; "Which fight have we ever fought that wasn't easy" and also because when he wanted to go all out, he probably didn't have enough reishi to use his schrift and also the time factor. The power up he received was likely his second volstandig and his immortality. Lille barro base full power solos Squad Zero.

Cour 2 should end right when yhwach “confronts” (understatement no spoilers) the soul king and then cour 3 should be all the sternritter fights leading up to the almighty being activated. Icheibei vs Yhwach, Kisuke vs Askin, Kenny vs Gremmy, and ichigo aizen and uryu vs mr mustache are 4 of the top 5 fights in the anime so cour 3-4 will be well worth the wait

Experience? NO. The quincies have been preparing for a thousand years for this war so they already have the upper hand. They always have decent powers to match up with the soul reaper imo as it was clearly stated that they all had reiastu equal or greater than a captain. You probably only feel the captains should be stronger coz of the fact that the only quincy we have been using to Guage the sternritters' strength is Uryu. The Sternritters are by far stronger than the espadas which is enough for them to give the soul reapers a run for their money
