I can’t understand why people say the range is a joke. I have a Moto Guzzi 1200 Griso and VMAX 1700. Both only return 90 miles to a tank full of fuel. How many people realistically do more than 100 miles in any one go? Very few in fact.
@rookie6933 жыл бұрын
Don't believe many people will go over 100 miles before deciding to charge at one point

I'm split into both wanting an electric bike to look like a cross between a Tron light cycle and tetsuo's bike in Akira and wanting a full retro but with a battery pack disguised to be a parallel/V-twin...
@threethrushes3 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying Akira was the reason I got a bike... but, I'm sure it played a role, like CHiPS, and Top Gun did. Ah, the 80s.

I’ve ridden both and didn’t care for the faring. Really no point to a faring if you can only ride 100 miles at a time. The faring also makes noise. Thanks to the best Moto reviewer on Utube.

Electric bikes are the way to go. Zero have come a long way. Energica is nice too but very expensive & no dealership support in Australia. We’re still burning coal so no government incentive to buy EVs.🤦♂️. Otherwise, great info MOTOBOB ✅🚀

None, yet. I love where it's going, but until the battery capacity vs. size and range issues get better, it's not worth the price.

I wonder if the fairing reduces drag at motorway speeds. If it does, then surely it would mean the range is slightly better. If this is the case, then I think the faired one is the best choice out of these. Although I don't see myself getting an electric bike until it's economically viable and practical from a range and charging perspective.

Not much has changed on this front for a while it seems. Love the idea of an electric bike but so few of us could afford one. Then there is the range, not even enough for an average Sunday afternoon blast. Seriously niche, but good luck to them. Cheap(ish) electric commuters will be the route to mass acceptance I'm sure and the Chinese seem to be working on covering that angle. I'm surprised it is taking so long, but I guess battery range, as for the cars is the greatest hurdle to overcome.

How far are you looking to ride?? I have the zero s, with the 13KW battery, and can cover over a hundred miles (city) on a charge. And as far as price, buy used. I found an '18 model with 600 miles on it recently, for $7000. Not bad imo.

A touring bike with a range of 100 miles is laughable, problem with E-bikes compared to E-cars is that you can`t just put bigger batteries on them, they have a limit and as long as the batteries is`t better E-bikes only have a small market, I could see my self with an E-scooter in the city or as a second "car" for commuting to work, but insted of my Etc. Suzuki GSX1000GT it won`t work.
Gotta be nude. Srf all day. I've got 2 of em lol. Both are awesome preference thing really. I just uploaded a quick burnout vid 😎 too much fun

Petrol may be old fashioned , but we win nothing today by riding electric bikes environmentally, not a thing. And Nuclear Power to feed the grid is definitely not a good solution. Eventually we will have great power sources, in quantities we need, not there today, someday though.
@Omar-kw5ui3 жыл бұрын
Well you're just wrong. In Scotland for example, renewables met 97% of Scotland's electricity demand in 2020. So yes, riding electric TODAY does benefit the planet environmentally.
@bikersoncall3 жыл бұрын
@@Omar-kw5ui bs bro, Not in the US, China or Russia, and I think you're full of sht about Scotland, what is your major power source, do you have a link to that power breakdown. Scotland is the size of a state in the US.
@Omar-kw5ui3 жыл бұрын
@@bikersoncall what is BS? Why are you getting irrationally offended? The video is made in the UK, you commented saying we win nothing environmentally by riding electric bikes. This is wrong for multiple reasons: 1. There are many countries in the EU where the majority of electricity is generated using green energy. 2. People who buy electric bikes can charge them using solar panels on their houses. 3. Even if you use electricity generated using power stations, the overall life cycle co2 consumption is arguably better, for example go watch engineering explained’s video comparing co2 life cycles of electric cars to petrol cars. 4. Even if all of the above was not true, you would still be doing the environment a favour by supporting companies that are developing technologies that might in the future lead to environmental benefits - case in point tesla. If people didn’t support tesla early on, we wouldn’t be as far along the path of car electrification as we are now worldwide.

@@Omar-kw5ui BS , is you telling someone it's not true, when it is true, you are in some tiny little place, and you can't even back up your blsht claim that you are 97% renewable when that wasn't even the issue, just because its renewable doesn't mean it's free of horrible contaminants, and somehow env friendly because its renewable. Well where is this documentation to back this 97% up, regardless. don't attack the msgr bro. What I said in the op was fact, I don't give a sht really what you think you're accomplishing in Scotland , but since you made you claim and called me a liar, lets see you back it up.
@bikersoncall3 жыл бұрын
@@Omar-kw5ui I found some Scotland figures, pretty impressive, I'm not sure of the efficacy of wind across the globe apparently you have a pretty constant source of wind providing close to 70% of your energy, hydro is good too, but in the US that only accts for about 7% of our energy, and wind it surely much less than that. Tidal looks promising (future). Photovoltaic is not practical in scotland apparently. What I was saying in the op relates to global energy sources, not some isolated experiment, bravo to Scotland, but what I said on a Global arena is that we ARE NOT there yet, some day we will be, but for the hoards of screaming idiots that think electricity is somehow cleaner than petrol is complete bullocks.

It'd be the naked for me. Trade wind protection for sportiness and style. Sorry Zero but that fairing is ugly, why can't American brands make nice fairing? That said if I had the money for a new E bike I'd splurge the extra for the Energica, Italian style trumps American style 7 days a week.
