Well hey there, I’m the commissioner or more importantly their son, the one who this song was commissioned for. Some may know me as Rodamoebas or Paramimus or Para or Roda but to the point. This song is great, genuinely Brandon did an amazing making this song, the cover art looks epic like a shot out of both games. Thank you so much Brandon. And if you want it, there will be a vocal version. Don’t know when it will be here, who it will also be sung by outside of Brandon but it is coming eventually. Now for the review of each part of the song. 1. The intro builds suspense, the closest songs I can find is Aloy’s Theme and the Ark Aberration Theme so it definitely fits, the violin in the background gives it a grand almost cosmic star born feel like the end of a journey. 2. The middle comes in strong with the beat drop with an electric guitar and electric drum in there as well giving a more techno rock feel similar to what you’d here in one of NerdOut’s songs for the games (No I am not comparing Brandon and NerdOut, they are both great artists that have their own points that the other may not so don’t compare the four.) And the chants near the start of the middle like the Choir from the Ark: Survival Evolved theme, Ark: Aberration theme and Extinction theme and parts of Aloy’s theme. 3. The Last segment of the song is suspenseful like the first but also techno just like the middle then Brandon busts out that guitar riff and then a more quiet guitar and drum and then it ends. Anyways I hope some of my old friends from my DBM days see this. I don’t want to end it on a nitpick so I won’t but here’s one. The name was originally supposed to be Evolving Horizon as many know that was always meant to but Zero Survival is good but it was meant to be Evolving Horizon. Overall great song made by Brandon. So be on the lookout for one these three in the future. Zilla vs Zedus (Godzilla vs Gamera), King Ghidorah vs Darkstalker (Godzilla vs Wings of Fire) or Zyva vs Zygarde (GigaBash vs Pokémon). Also Aloy gets crushed here, she may have more experience and technically intelligence (depends if the Survivor is smart without the player themselves controlling the Survivor) but every physical stat she gets crushed in also the Survivor canonically has respawn and is called “The One Who Tries Again” by Helena Walker so Aloy can’t even kill him if the Survivor just keeps coming back. But Brandon, great work.

@NotSoPolitePerson Fair, also I think it’s stepping on either the Tek Rex or Thunderjaw, with either the Survivor’s spear, Tek Sword or Aloy’s spear somewhere near the front or the background on the left. But thanks for saying everything else is perfect, this is my most wanted Matchup for Death Battle, hopefully this track gives it some hope with all the positive feedback on both the track and matchup.

An ARK commission isn't a bad surprise for sure even if I had expected Helena or Rockwell to get one before the Survivor. Putting aside the frankly meh name and weird-looking (not in a good way) track art, this matchup actually makes quite a lot of sense as someone that only knew of Riley from Subnautica for ARK's Survivor which wasn't really a great matchup and of course seeing ARK at all (with Horizon too which is a series I enjoy quite a bit too) is really appreciable on paper so it got me quite hyped to listen to this song. And in the end... Well it's not _bad_ at all and still is enjoyable for sure but it feels a bit underwhelming especially given Brandon's already done a track involving Aloy in the past (Braving The Hunt) that felt more fitting towards the character than this one. Now don't get me wrong, this track definitely has a large amount of good to it: it has the grand scale, power and tension required for the matchup that represent both sides of it and the use of the ARK main theme and instruments remixed throughout the track is a very interesting take on it which sounds great. But when you consider that both Horizon and especially ARK have absolutely *_legendary_* OSTs, this one ends up feeling a bit underwhelming in terms of representation when a large chunk of it (IE: its very ending at 2:54-3:10) feels quite a lot like generic-ish orchestral/electronic music. I do feel like one of the main reasons for this is probably the fact that it's got quite a short runtime at barely more than 3:30mins which makes it so it can't have a lot of variation or different tones without feeling jaring in the transitions or have each segment last too little time. That's a problem that other tracks (IE: Art of Command) have had so I'm certainly not looking down on the track for it, especially since it's still got really appreciable segments (basically any segment that use that remixed version of the ARK theme actually wonderfully scratch that itch such as the one starting at 2:08 which takes the same violin as the original ARK theme does for its intro which was a wonderful nostalgic callback) but I can't ignore the lack of meaningful variation that the song has nonetheless. I mean, you've got such potential and the climax to the song is generic hard electronic music ? That's just kind of a bummer. Especially when, again, both franchises have wonderful examples of great final-like OSTs (IE: The Overseer, Planned Obsolescence, etc...) that'd just have been amazing to use as reference or inspiration here. Well at the end of the day like I said it's certainly not a bad song either, while it doesn't fully catchy that awe-inspiring grandeur that ARK's OST has nor that tribal feel that Horizon's has it still sounds nice and for the runtime it has it does what it can do so that's still something to note. Overall this track may be underwhelming for the matchup it features but it still does a lot of good via its twist on existing OSTs and the scale some of its segments have which result in a good if not flawed by context song. It's certainly not on the level of wasted potential as, say, Titanfall was for sure because this one I can appreciate quite a lot if I lower my standards too so I'd say it does a respectable work still. So great job with this for sure.

Parts of this I didn’t have a control over like the name being changed to Zero Survival when I commissioned it as Evolving Horizon and personally I find the track art great, thought it would hand drawn for the cover art however but still great if I believe the original design was a T. Rex and Tek Rex skull half on both sides of its head one being corrupted by hades and one being corrupted by element corruption then the three ark triangles in the background with Aloy’s bow and the Survivor’s spear crossing over each other then the silhouette of the King Titan and Thunderjaw in the background but I think it still looks good.

Awesome, work as always Next time commissions are open, I’m sending in my request, but I’m currently torn between two matchups, conveniently, my 1st and 2nd most wanted matchups. 1: Hiccup & Toothless VS Hiro & Baymax (How to Train Your Dragon VS Big Hero 6) 2: Storm Hawks VS Battle Force 5 (Storm Hawks VS Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5) I want to get the second one first to give that matchup some attention it so richly deserves since next to no one knows about either franchise, but the first one is more likely to happen for real sometime soon, and I’m worried that I’ll miss out on the opportunity, since I don’t think Brandon and Therewolf will make commissions for a matchup that already has a custom track. That’s why matchups like Dante VS Bayonetta, Kirby VS Majin Buu, Master Chief VS Doomslayer, Yang VS Tifa and Godzilla VS Gamera got away with getting a Commission Track long after their Death Battle Episodes became real.

Depends on if we give the survivor their tamed creatures because they should have, at least, a couple hundred different creatures or variants of creatures. If we don’t, depends on if Aloy can stack up to the survivor’s endgame gear like mechs and tech suits.

The tech gear far surpassed any bow, spear or armour (even shield weaver) that Aloy has but if Aloy can use the Thunderjaw… she’s still dead cause the Survivor can use a cryopod and bust out a Giga. So yeah Aloy dies horrendously bad, it’s so bad me and a friend of mine at school spent half a period finding a matchup she wins, he concluded on Spy from TF2 (I’m sceptical about that.)
