Thank you! I really appreciate your passion for teaching kendo. I have been watching the drills develop for kendo as inspiration for working on hema. This has really inspired me to adapt some of the practices into my own classes and practice.

Coming from a Kendoka and former HEMA instructor, there are lots of interesting ways to work Kendo-like drills into HEMA for a beneficial effect. I actually created a modified kirikaeshi to practice alternating zwerchs. And I regularly incorporated suburi type exercises into my own training.

Is the speed you're going at for those final couple of demonstrations a good speed to keep in mind for grading kirikaeshi? I usually end up a bit slower than that - I've heard it said to just go "as fast as you can with correct form" but would you say for shodan shinsa the speed matters too much?
