Nice preview of knife will watch your update. I bought this knife also and have had it for two weeks now and love the ergonomics. Then again it might just fit my hands perfectly. I can say this is the sharpest knife I have received out the box. Crazy sharp. Every person I’ve shown this knife to immediately ask where can I buy it. It’s a purchase I’m very happy I made.

Regarding the Logo would you have either side of the slice misalign, as that part of the words were sliced off?

Great overview. I didn't like the look of the 0609 initially, not big on full ti, flippers or proprietary hardware, but getting one in the hand this knife is quite impressive. Best mid-size EDC from ZT, better than the 0450 IMO. Very comfortable in the hand and thinner, high performance steel make it a great slicer. Fit, finish & function are top notch.

It is very pocket and hand friendly. Wish they'd make a version with a G10/Micarta/CF front scale. For whatever reason full ti just doesn't do it for me.

Nice , I have this knife and am carrying it now! It’s an excellent edc blade! What PM2 is that with the carbon fiber scales? Are those cf scales a textured matte finish ?

I have had the ZT 0609 on preorder with Blade HQ since January. Hopefully it will be shipping soon. I wanted this knife for some of the same reasons that you stated, mainly to deal with 3.5" blade laws. I had bought an 0450 for that same reason but found that the knife was to small for me, in particular the grip. The 0450 will be going up for sale after only being carried 2 times. I had expected that it would be a similar size to a Benchmade 940 since it is a popular comparison here on youtube, but it ins't. Hopefully the 0609 will be a better fit and I really like the upgraded blade steel. BTW I love the 0801ti. It is very comfortable in the hand and I don't find it to be to heavy as long as I am not wearing dress pants. In 511's I don't even know it's there.

Same exact reason my 0450 didn't last long. The 0801 wasn't too heavy. Just too big in my pocket and I wound up just not carrying it much. Great knife though. If I ever saw a ridiculous deal on one, I'd get it.

If the pivot screw was shorter no special tool would be required, there is no reason for the screw to be so long, for max strength you need only 2 1/2 thread protruding! Nice knife & great review, thanks

Same here. I "Pre-ordered" in February. Think most would agree that everyone that pre-ordered expected they would get their knife from the first batch that BladeHQ received as they knew it would sell out quick. As of today they still have it up for pre-order. How can you pre-order a knife that is already available to the public. When they exceeded their initial allotment from ZT, it should have been marked "Sold Out" like on other sites. Nope they keep taking orders. Can't see one of the larger companies like BladeHQ not getting a decent allotment. Could have ordered from smaller seller and had it already. Maybe I'm missing something and their shipment from Kia had issues, but no communication from BladeHQ either.

I like my 0450CF but the handle is pretty slim and the blade isn't particularly slicey or dicey. This one looks to be about the perfect size for me. I've been heavily considering the Benchmade 940-2 for my next knife but this ZT is in very close contention...There's a big knife show coming to my town next month that I'm super stoked for so I've been holding off buying knives this month to save up for that. It's a good exercise in self-control but damn, I'm an addict. Hey, the first step is admitting you have a problem, right? I'm considering getting into reviewing just as a justification for myself of having so many more knives than I need.

I understand why it's necessary for the hole... but proprietary hardware... : ( IMO not worth it to me just to have that. Very nice looking knife though :)

I'd counter that the knife is still bargain, proprietary hardware or not. I definitely don't think that you're "paying extra" for it. Even with the tool price factored in, $236 for a 20CV ti folder with great action, great ergo and ZT's warranty and F&F is pretty damn good. We'll see if I feel the same after some use.

Sliceman- Nice entry by ZT. ZT's phrasing is over the top and their presentation is underwhelming. The tool is available. It is under Kershaw STPTOOL for $16.95 at KnifeCenter. I like bronze knives. This would have looked great with blue on the flats of the scales. I do like that ZT seems to be matching Chinese makers material wise and price wise. Spyderco and Benchmade would have this priced well over $300.
