I so agree. I am especially thankful for the home my children and I have just moved into in a bit of a rush just before Christmas. Living in a rented home for 11 years and suddenly being uprooted due to the quick sale of the house brought me to a new appreciation for finding a pace to call home. Watching your videos has helped me to better settle where I am. Your ideas help me to find new ways to feel satisfied in the space I now occupy and hope will truly become a home.

It's so lovely how you put the idea of cleaning not as a chore, but as giving your home TLC and being grateful that you have it! In the past I used to hate the day of cleaning, but thankfully now I'm adopting a new way of looking at it with love and good feelings, so your video was so much in tune with my new philosophy! Thank you very much for your lovely videos. This primal urge to spring clean is such a gift. I like to step back centuries and imagine how our generational great-grandmothers must have enjoyed applying TLC to their rustic homes - just as much as we do in the 21st century. Here in Michigan we still have at least two months of winter. But displaying a little pride of ownership by cleaning and organizing now, helps overcome this gloomy season. On the other hand, just yesterday Bella (older Yellow Lab, we're about the same age) and I both braved a winter storm by walking to Lake Huron's shoreline to view this Great Lake in a majestic uproar. Once back home, six inches of snow in the driveway needed to be shoveled. These challenging outdoor activities were wonderfully invigorating, and helped clean out any emotional cobwebs.

Spring isn't close for me yet, we had snow here this last week, something I hadn't seen in quite a few years so I was grateful for it. I think I may get a jump on some winter cleaning and organizing. Enjoyable video as akways😊

Chased the cobwebs last Monday, remembering of your previous video about it ; it took me less than a quarter of an hour and was so refreshing. Vacuumed under the big L-form sofa too, full of dust and lost toys and kids’ thingies. Began to think of cleaning the windows, maybe early February, when I usually think I cannot bear anymore of winter time and rain... Thank you again for your so smoothing and inspiring YT and Instagram channels. Have a nice week.

I thought I was the only one who thought of January as the unofficial start of spring! I always spring clean in January and lighten things up around the house. I obviously still use my fireplace and candles for warmth but I like having my plants around and fresh flowers such as white tulips as a reminder that spring is around the corner. I also let as much sunshine into the house as possible. I don’t know why but I’m usually already in spring mode when January rolls around. 🤗🌿🌷

Oh Niamh, you're so lucky to be able to open the windows wide at this time, and to be able to think that spring is just around the corner. I envy you both abilities. We've still got at least another 8 weeks of winter, and it's SO cold the best I can do is get the windows open a crack for a few minutes. But it was a breath of fresh air to see you be able to do that. You've got such a great, livable, climate. Thanks for posting.

I've been struggling with depression for years now so my room is filthy! it's covered in clothes and food packets and dust, it's gross! but slowly I feel myself get better and, as hard as it is, my room is getting cleaner and cleaner. it's nowhere near done but with this type of motivation my room will be clean! I might even be able to have girls around soon lol xoxo thank you

As always, I just adore your voice and videos. So relaxing. With that being said, it's a bit too early to be thinking of Spring here in upstate NY. Winter just started for us Dec 21st, so not quite a month in; we have a ways to go yet. About 5 inches of snow fell yesterday with temps in the single digits fahrenheit but I LOVE it. Winter is so nice and cozy here. I loved how you opened your windows and you can hear the birds chirping, a definite sign of Spring for you. Our bird feeders are full and out, and we get the occasional visitor but not nearly as much as the warmer months. Have a wonderful day!

When you say “Winter is over and spring is on the way”, I live in South Texas so our springs are kinda short, then comes the long hot summers we all dislike here. So spring for us is a prelude to summer heat and dryness. But I do like spring flowers and air and greenness...... just wish we had more of it.

Beautiful video, as always. Personally I find this a very hard mindset to get into. Cleaning is a chore for me and after 45 minutes of doing it I get very annoyed by it. Hopefully watching positive videos about it will help someday.

I started by just taking 2 to 5 minutes while waiting to de clutter and slowly clean just what's in frontand can get done in that time. I am finding more I make time for smallet cleaner and decluttering the less cleaning feels like a chore or less time spent. Its a mindset though

Congratulations to you for cleaning a whole 45 minutes!! You can get done so much in a little amount of time! I‘d be tired after this as well 😅 Cleaning shouldn’t be torture. After 20-50 minutes sit down and enjoy the work of your hands 😋

Hello. You might like the Flylady system which gets you a clean house without big cleaning sessions. Little and often, consistently - it's simple yet clever. You'll find positive videos about it on Diane in Denmark's channel. The Secret Slob is also great. Best wishes from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada where the bulbs are poking up.🌷

Thank you all for your reactions! It's inspiring to hear other takes on the matter. I've heard of the flylady system before, but now you've mentioned it again I might give it a second chance. Or even just clean in shorter periods of time, as hydspirit and Bina Turtle are suggesting.

Doing the same this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration! I live in the USA (Wisconsin), we still have about 2 more months left of winter and just got about 8 centimeters of snow.

I like your optimism about spring. 🤗 I'm not that optimistic until the end of February, hoping March is the beginning of spring. But it always turns out to be April. 🙄

I work as a private domestic cleaner and I love it. There's something so satisfying about cleansing away dirt and mess, and leaving houses sparkling. I use chemical free cleaning products for the most part. I'd like to use cloths to minimize waste but I do use paper towels a lot to avoid any cross contamination (especially toilets), and I find they create less streaks on glass and mirrors. I feel guilt about the environmental impact but I'm yet to think of a solution that uses less waste and also prevents contamination risks.

So inspirational; I've also been doing a little bit of cleaning to refresh my home; just a few basics and wiping down the kitchen window sills and cleaning the windows. Just lets more light in on a beautiful sunny day that we've been so short of lately. Even the birds have started to sing more joyfully today. 💕
