That's just a fandom myth. We have no source that says that the Royal Knights' Magnamon/UlforceVeedramon/Imperialdramon PM explicitly evolved from Veemon, and one (V-Tamer / Xros Wars) that indicates that their UlforceVeedramon (Zeromaru) evolved from Agumon instead.

My favorite Royal Knight is hands down Dukemon/Gallantmon. Aside from debuting in my favorite season, I think the reason I actually like Dukemon so much is because he's the least blind of the Royal Knights. As you said, most of them will blindly follow Yggdrasil's orders, and several of them are even willing to commit atrocities for the sake of their own interpretation of justice. Dukemon, though, is shown to repeatedly defy orders he disagrees with. In the X-evolution movie he brazenly questions their orders to eliminate all digimon bearing the X-antibody, fights Omegamon/Omnimon to the seeming-death in defiance, and then returns as an X-antibody digimon himself in order to save the persecuted X-antibody digimon. In the fifth season of Savers he starts out obeying Yggrdrasil, but he is the first of the Royal Knights (aside from Sleipmon/Kentaurosmon) to see the flaws in destroying humanity. And is a key figure in getting the other Royal Knights to stand against Yggdrasil. Perhaps, if you look at it philosophically, the reason for this and another reason why I like Dukemon is that he's a virus. All the other Royal Knights are vaccine or data digimon. They're saints. Holy from the start, and, in cases such as Lordknightmon/Crusadermon, will act out atrocities with the view of a holier-than-thou individual. But Dukemon is a virus. And thus can be viewed as the sinner become a saint. The person raised up from an indecent life to a righteous one. And thus, as someone who has been wrong and committed wrong, he understands better what right and wrong really are.

The only other crazy thing about Dukemon is he is the only Virus Royal Knight other than Crusadermon (or LordKnightmon as she has now been referred as). Being Virus types both are easier to corrupt and infect as opposed to Data and Vaccine types. Yet Dukemon has proved time and time again in many of his appearances that he is the most capable one of following his own ideals and beliefs. I love Dukemon as well the others being Examon and Jesmon.

Oh yeah, I forgot LordKnightmon was virus. I realize I was probably over-analyzing, but that's fun to do when you can talk to other people about it. I don't think it discredits my comparison of Dukemon as the sinner-turned-saint, though. More to your point, in LordKnightmon's case it does demonstrate the cruelty viruses are commonly associated with, and creates an interesting parallel between them. Also, I really like Jesmon as well, and, while I like his design, I feel like if they were going make a digimon inspired by the son of God Himself then they could've done something more interesting with him. Appearance-wise either more humble or more glorious. I'm hoping for a mode or super-ultimate level for him in the future. Maybe King Mode, Adonai Mode, or Resurrection Mode. Lore-wise, which could still be done in the future, perhaps Jesmon should be tied in more with the functionality of the Digital World? Though that's getting into theorizing and hopes. As he is I still really like Jesmon, and his OS Generics are clearly supposed to parallel miracles given that it just allows him to output more power than he is actually capable of seemingly without limit.

It's funny how Dukemon is the RK that closely resembles a traditional knight and he lives with a code of chivalry and loyalty to one's Lord. But he's the one who always defy Yggdrassil's will in almost any media that features the Royal Knights lol.

Well you dont really have to be psychic to see through yggdrasils bullshit, yggdrasil is literally a selfcorrupting doomsday device. Alphamon also isnt supposed to be under yggdrasils orders and acts more as a babysitter for the other knights so they dont go off on a murderspree, Tri just kinda forgot about that among other things. Same probably goes for gankoomon and jesmon as they are generally down to earth and very much in favor of protecting the common digimon. So dukemon isnt really alone in his defiance of yggdrasil.

Frontier ended March 30 2003 while Alphamon debuted around the end of April the same year, so canonically he would be just a legend among the group. He did what his job has him do in Cyber Sleuth helping the player and eventually defeating Lordknightmon,Duftmon and Dynasmon and helping with the Mother Eater.

You forgot about how Alphamon was created solely to act as a catalyst by Yggdrasil, to ensure that neither he, nor the Royal Knights would ever go out of control. He is literally a "deterrent force". It's why he's always absent, because he was created to only appear if either the rest of the Royal Knights, or Yggdrasil himself ever needed to be prevented from taking certain actions.

19:23 about that statement. Actually according to Toei, the Gallantmon in digimon tamers is a member of the Royal Knights. They included this info on the tamers digimon character bio for Gallantmon, which was done three months after the end of tamers series. However, the story board writer, Chiaka Konaka, of the tamers series, stated in 2018, that when he wrote the story for tamers, the royal knights were not included in his story board since Toei did not properly introduce the royal knight groups until after the ending of the tamers series, which is why they were introduce in digimon anime series of fronitier. Thus when he wrote the story board for tamers, Gallantmon was not introduce as being a memeber. With that said, despite the error Toei, made by not properly introducing the royal knights into the tamers series, Toei anime are the creators of the digimon francise and own the rights to its distribution, which includes all the anime story boards for the series. So although Toei did not properly introduce the royal knights in the tamers series, Toei, as of 2018, has not made any changes to the character profile of Gallantmon from tamers, and still considers him a member of the royal knight. Which means, YES, the Gallantmon from tamers is a member of the Royal Knights. Whether or not, Konaka, agrees to this or not, it does not matter, since he does not own the rights to the tamers series, Toei does and they can do with or portray the Gallantmon character of tamers however, they please. Digimon Xros is a prime example of this. So I hope this ends the debate.

The Crimsonmode is a alternative Version but only the X-Antibody Version of Dukemon is realy conectet too the RK, like Futuremode. Owryuken is Part of the RK. So its not good too count alternative Modes too, except for Leopardmode, X-Antibody and Owryuuken.

Sunaki1000 well it would make sense to say *theoretically* the RK versions could potentially reach these modes. For example, the RK gallantmon could become crimson if he fused with grani (i am not familiar with tamers so i can't say much more on the topic) and the RK ulforce veedramon could become future mode (again, i am not familiar with the v-tamers manga so i can't say much more there either). Also, it would be interesting to see imperialdramon paladin mode included in that list, along with all of the X-antibody versions of the RK. What would an imperialdramon paladin mode X even look like??

@@brockbillings4299 you are correct. Also, crimson mode is "Actually" a natural evolution line for the royal knight digimon, Gallantmon, for two reasons. The first ,being that the Tamers Gallantmon, which is capable of obtaining crimson mode, is referenced by the official toei profile page as being a royal knight. Second, Gallantmon crimson mode is described to be a mode form of Gallantmon when he's unleashed his full power, when his digital hazard core has been sealed. This is canon to his lore as Gallantmon does contain the digital hazard insignia. Hope this helps. peace.

My two faves are Crusadermon and Dynasmon, and not just because I ship them. I have a thing for strong effeminate guys, and I loved Crusadermon's character ark in Cyber Sleuth, the whole mind merge thing was pure existential horror. As for Dynasmon, I love the unquestionable loyalty aspect of his character, and how ready (and happy) he is to go on a suicide mission for his lord. This here is a true samurai, and I hope to see his character explored in-depth in future games and anime. Oh, and I totally ship them,

I've always liked Examon the most out of the Royal Knights. In part because of the mystery behind him, I don't think he's ever had a feature in any anime ever (apparently he was one of many small Examon absorbed by the big bad in XROS Wars but I never watched because that was painful), and there's really not much information about him at all. The other part is because he's a FREAKING MASSIVE BADASS DRAGON! I remember when I first saw him, there was info that his lance stored a specific virus to counter/kill every Digimon out there (can't word it better, but like a virus specifically for each Digimon species), but that has since been redacted- likely due to fixing a translation error. On top of that, when he was shown in Cyber Sleuth, it did take the power of arguably some of strongest Royal Knights just to beat him (on top of Protagonist, although it's debatable how much effect s/he actually had). Dude has mad power.

as soon as i saw hackmon in the first trailer of digimon tri i was so curious about it and everything, and then i bought digimon cyber sleuth and i found out that there is hackmon in it. i instantly fell in love with it and it's backsotry and then there is jesmon, the design is sooooo freaking cool, jesmon turned out to be my favorite digimon of all time and as i saw it in digimon tri i freaked out and was so disappointed we didn't see much of him yet

Honestly, the Royal Knights are basically the Digital World's equivalent of the Knights of the Round Table. The toughest thing to decide would be on who would each Royal Knight be based on. I'm not sure who would be the basis for who but if anybody has a list of what they believe each Royal Knight is based on then that would be helpful. Alphamon, Omnimon, and Gallantmon have always been my favorite Royal Knights because they remind me of the characters from the Fate series, Arthur Pendragon, Gawain, and Mordred. Though I think if I had to describe at least one of the Royal Knights being similar to a Knight of the Round, it would be Jesmon reminds me of Galahad.

I never knew Alphamon's sword was the GradAlpha, I thought Grademon's was. So I looked it up. Apparently, Grademon's swords are the Twin GradAlpha, and Alphamon's sword is the Divine GradAlpha. I guess that makes sense, as Grademon digivolves into Alphamon.

It wonders me why, after the creation of Royal Knights, Imperialdramon Paladin mode was never mentioned again... So I kinda have a theory to what actually happens to him, I may be wrong of course, but I would like to take it as a possibility to compensate for his untold/insignificant disappearance. What if.. Imperialdramon Paladin mode is *Magnamon*? After finding all the Royal Knights and choosing who are suitable to be one; he too would question and curious to what Yggdrasil would do to use these Royal Knights *after* preserving peace from the ancient crisis. Thus, he digi-devolved himself so he 'maybe' becomes Magnamon. Why him? Because he is the closest one to be a legit 'Holy' Digimon and that Imperialdramon was once an evolution line from Veemon, who side digivolved to Magnamon. This would also explain why Magnamon, 'just' through armor digivolve, is considered as a Mega level rather than a Champion level. Of course, you might say that Magnamon himself also blindly follows with Yggdrasil's plan as shown in the games and series, so that is kinda a big flaw in the theory. But I would like to see that, he did this just to test *other* members to see if he has chosen the digimons that have the *right* sense of justice and *worthy* to be called as a Royal Knights. Again, just to apologize by making these claims, this is just a theory, so I'm sorry if I'm wrong.

The problem with a lot of these things is that they get brought up once and dropped again right after and then there is a new story entry regarding the royal knights that kinda changes previous stuff and doesnt mention other things. There is no consistent digimon lore, its split across different timelines and sources. Half the stuff listed in older entries is probably retconned to hell and back by now.

Magnamon has a very powerful version of Probability Manipulation (the ability to alter probability, allowing one to make the unlikely more likely to occur, and vice versa. It may appear as just supernatural luck, or can be more actively used for defense to make attacks inexplicably miss - and in the same way, it can be used to make sure attacks always hit. At a high level, it can be used to make things that would be completely impossible otherwise certainties. On a greater scale, it can be used to manipulate quantum probability and can reach the level of powerful Reality Warping) that borders on Plot Manipulation (the ability to control the plot itself. Examples include altering the plot, creating/destroying stories, changing speech bubbles, changing the setting, etc. It is a variation of Reality Warping) and is the Royal Knight that's considered the cornerstone of the group's defence. He is the Royal Knight with the toughest defense in the group.

I wonder how well UlforceVeedramon's and Alphamons special abilities would work against spiritual damage? For example, while they cannot be harmed by instant death attacks that affect their bodies, what about DarknessBagramon's God of Death Snatcher, which destroyes the target soul. Its not physical damage, but more of a case of destroying the opponents mind and spirit. So if UVDM's soul were to be destroyed, would Alforce still activate automatically, and be able to regenerate that damage?

a very arguable yes/no. in A manga, Alphamon did fight dexmon more than once,and beat him as well more than once as they couldn't truly fully harm each other, and Alphamon has a couple other cheeky techniques. with Alpha inforce, you never know how many times the user has actually done the move, which can also result in the attacking move stopping and disappearing as if it never happened. Though you could also say no as well. we really don't know if they can regenerate their souls, but if you consider it as a type if energy like some do, they likely can do it. It if their souls are also ones and 0's then they also likely can despite its function if you think of it that way.

It's not omnimon. It's omegamon. Why? Because he is the embodiment of the end just as alphamon is the embodiment of the beginning. In the x movie, omegamon stated that he didn't like what he was doing, but thought it was necessary. Thus, why he destroyed Yggdrasil with his move all delete (further proving that he is the embodiment of the end).

Gallantmon is my favorite and Omnimon is my second favorite, both heavily influenced by nostalgia. Omnimon is cool as f* because of the following reasons: he's made of two mega digimon who are individually awesome, he's incredibly powerful, his style is impeccable, and most importantly he uses a sword *and* a cannon as his weapons. Gallantmon, though. Well, he has a sick-ass plume, a billowing red cape, the potential to ride a steed, the potential to have seraphic wings in crimson mode. The two most important parts, for me, are his shield (I love shields) and the looming threat of his own fall to evil if he loses himself.

Great video but you forgot to mention the mode changes some of the Royal Knights have. Save for Leopardmon Leopard Mode, you did not talk about Gallantmon Crimson Mode, UlforceVeedramon Future Mode and Alphamon Owryuuken Mode. You also may have briefly mentioned but you could have expanded on the Royal Knights "X" Forms as those Royal Knights who have X forms tend to have incredible abilities outside of their main forms.
