I feel that the bass player doesn't get enough props. The bass in many Zero 7 songs is soooo smooth, and really creates the mood of the music. Full disclosure: I'm a bass player .... ;-)

As a semi-retired audio engineer, I am also of the belief that the collaboration and synchronicity of the bass and drums set up the basis of the driving force and rhythm, often referred to as "the engine room", from which the other instrumentalists overlay their respective artistic contributions with all members then homogenising into that wonderful state of fluidity that becomes the "magic" of true artisans live performances... of course, you need someone who is proficient at mixing the sonic output and controlling the overall balance of amplification, foldback and front of house sound pressure level which is absorbed by the "alive" audience whose participation then feeds back to the musicians creating a mutually beneficial loop of harmonic energy that makes a night to remember for everyone. All of these essential components appear in most of the Zero 7 collaborations...Peace!

Zero 7 has got to be one of the greatest bands in existence. And Sia's voice can make me explode and then melt into a puddle of goo. Honestly.. so much love for these guys, it's not even funny.

Might I add. This song makes me so grateful I survived cancer and chemotherapy and more, to be here and with healthy ears to drink up this spectacular melody. Sia has sung my life song since the 90s.

it's funny how i've been listening for this song for years! i think it came in as a sample song in an old music software i once downloaded -musicmatch jukebox, i think- i deleted the rest of the songs but i liked this one and i kept it in my library ever since. it gave me the chills to find out Sia sings here, now that i found her music about a month ago and i listen to it everyday.. btw Max, my personal discovery of the year too, such an awesome person, composer and singer :)

I was disappointed when I heard that the Chandelier song I on the radio was her. I had even used it as an example of a new trend in music I hated, women basically just yelling as loud as they can. Loved her in Zero 7, though. Still think she has the talent, but that song is not very good.
@walkerbait61010 жыл бұрын

I remember when I first heard this song.... I was half sleep, a late night show was on and a band was performing live. I didn't have cable so it was CBS, the only channel that came in with a cable plan in my area. The chorus jerked me awake and I fell in love with this song to the point where I hummed it constantly, and this was before internet was available the way it is now (come on, dial up modem people!!!)... It was another year before I would hear it again, and that was because I went to my uncle's house, went to Kazaa, downloaded it (after putting a few viruses on his computer), and burned a disk with that song a bunch of other Zero 7 songs that I hadn't heard but downloaded anyway, because A. I love that one song, and B. It would be a while before I could go back up there. Anyways, it feels good knowing I loved Sia before she became the force she is today and good music is just eternal and racially indiscriminate.

I was traveling a lot on planes staying in a lot of hotels ..listening in my hotel dressing gown ( kimono robe ).. your message took me back I had to laugh you downloaded her song with a few viruses on his computer .. dial up etc... and having all the hotels charge extra for internet as there was no wireless at all back then. Yeah takes me back
