Are DeWalt 20v Yard Tools Any Good?

Hello….I also have a Dewalt String Trimmer. I have seen the same problem as you have described. I have learned that the string has to be “tightly-wound” onto the hub. You did not mention that you were doing that so I am making a comment. My issue with “tightly-winding” the string is that a third hand helps. I hope that this comment is helpful.

Trimmer is great! It’s actually a beast. Head is also good. It needs a good bump and it will feed. I even use thicker line! Give it a chance and you will be surprised on what it can do.

$449 for everything PLUS batteries is a bargain . Here in the UK lawn mower alone is £360. It folds down small and is not too heavy compared to similar sized petrol mowers .

About the trimmer.. try using another line. Mine is working very nice with the line it came with. It cuts pretty thick weeds and doesn´t use that much batteries.

You can change the trimmer head to an Echo Fast Feed Head and I believe that would solve your problem.

Nice review, I love DeWALT but I was given a 40 volt Ryobi lawn mower and string trimmer as a gift, the only complaint with Ryobi is their batteries always go bad and they are expensive

I have all those 3 DeWalt's. Those are my only OPE I have. I have used them for almost 3 years and they work good. Don't love them or hate them but I want some EGO in my life soon just because i believe they will make me more efficient. Time=money.

So i have the same dewalt string trimmer but i agree the head and string is garbage. Thats why I purchased an echo speed feed head and echo black diamond for string.

I have the same issue with my trimmer. String won't come out ever unless I take it apart. It's now in the garage until I can bury it in the ground. If you discover a good battery trimmer, please share :)

DEWALT 20V MAX 14” String Trimmer got a nice folding handle to fit in the trash. It the worst thing Dewalt ever made.

The company that I work for uses Dewalt rechargeable tools exclusively all day, 12 to 14 hours a day. Those big batteries will be useless within 4 months of our use. Just imagine all the landfills in the US filled with lithium batteries over the next few years. The carbon footprint of lithium and cobalt is way worse than fossil fuels.
