Thank you. I have hyperthyroidism and it's annoying to say the least. Heart palpitations, always sweating, headaches, diarrhea, sleepless nights as I'm always hot, always tired, weight loss, irritability, blurred vision, swollen neck at times. I'm always hot. Always sweating. Shaky hands, legs and body. I'm so tired of dealing with this. Thank you for this video. 🚨 EDIT:- I’ve been seeing an endocrinologist along with my primary doctor, my T3 and T4 levels in my blood was extremely high! I have Graves’ disease. @@indiantiger699 What I read is that it's treatable, in extreme cases they have to remove the thyroid so you would be dealing the opposite condition which is hypothyroid for the rest of your life.

I was diagnosed in 2018. I was so emotional 😭 before being diagnosed. I am doing much better now. I am so thankful for family support and love. Eat a balanced meal, listen to your body, manage stress and anxiety, and get rest (enough sleep) that has really helped. Update: last year, December 2022 my blood work kept coming up in normal range and my endocrinologist told me to stop my Methimazole. February of 2023 my numbers were off. My endocrinologist said I am hyperthyroid again so back to taking medication. Now December 2023 my numbers are in normal range again. I take 5mg of Methimazole daily. I feel normal and accepted my new life taking pills everyday. I don’t think this disease could ever be cured. Some months are better. Sometimes I struggle but I always take my meds.

I was 11 years old when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. To give you some time reference, I am now 63 years old and there have been times when I wonder how I have survived this long. I went to the UCLA Children's Clinic and was under the care of Dr Barbara Lippe. I was told that I would be cured with Tapazole in 2-3 years. Within two years, the bulging eyes with the wild staring look disappeared and the goitre became less pronounced but 3 years passed, 4 years passed, 5, 6, 7...and I still had thyroid antibodies. I still do. I am now underactive. I really don't think doctors have a real clue what is going on with Graves Disease. To be told my condition would be cured within such a short space of time was a cruel joke.

I have graves disease. I was diagnose at 14 and I've been trying to fight it off for the last couple years. I'm 16 now and its definitely taken a toll on me, I wish I could just be normal. Update: My new endocrinologist says my numbers are perfect and soon I'll be able to slowly stop my medicine!! I'm also finally getting treatment for my Thyroid Eye Disease!! Update #2: Fantastic news. My thyroid is currently in remission. I officially no longer have graves disease 🙌

It's a rough thing being diagnosed with any disease. There's the feeling of anxiety that in this case is even escalated by the problem child thyroid. If you read this, just know it gets better. It gets really tiring at first, keeping up on whatever treatment you're using and all the tests, but it is manageable, and it shouldn't impact the rest of your life too negatively if the pills take effect. I was misdiagnosed with Graves disease and was at the point of thyroid removal and a lifetime of maintenance medication. Found an article by 2 MDs at the Texas Heart Institute entitled Misdiagnosis of Graves Disease Due to Aspartame Poisoning. I started reading labels and removed aspartame from my diet (it's in everything "diet") and symptoms completely disappeared within 60 days.

In my experience, the first two lines of treatment were not discussed as an option. Only radioactive iodine was presented as a possibility although I was advised to have mine surgically removed, even before doing a biopsy. I was told I probably had Grave's disease but after removal they said I had a lot of nodules on my thyroid that were precancerous. After that, I moved and so had to find a new endocrinologist. To this day, I don't really understand what caused the very sudden and severe hyperthyroidism at 19. It was explained to me that my problem wasn't going to get better, they were worried about my heart rate and my not sleeping for several days, plus I was delirious and paranoid at that point, so every doctor I encountered made it seem kind of urgent. But I never heard the term thyroid storm or received overnight care. They just got me in to have it removed a couple days after they got my blood results and did an ultrasound. This seems weird to me now after watching your video and learning how it is usually handled haha

I was diagnosed with "probably" Grave's disease - my docs didn't seem to want to commit to the diagnosis - last Dec. I have weight gain instead of weight loss. And my carbimazole took 5 months to normalise my T4 levels, but even that was temporary. My T4 has since increased and not normalised again. These make me worry that what I have is actually different or more severe. I get a diff doc each appointment (this is how it is where I'm from) and some conflicting info makes me feel I can't completely rely on any of them. But at least thanks to this vid, i know more and fortunately my symptoms are not the worst case scenario.

My daughter is 4 years old she has had a fast heart beat for awhile now and every Dr even her pediatrician has never seemed too concerned. I have always always stayed very concerned as she is my baby and I am extremely intuned to her. She recently had a procedure done and they were concerned because her heart rate was fast even her blood pressure was high. After blood work came back they came and told me that she has "high thyroid levels" I have never had to deal with anything like this and she has been extremely healthy and happy all her little life so I was shocked (still am) the endocrine Dr evaluated all her tests and called me just yesterday and said they would like her to start on 2 different meds. Again, this all new for me and to even have to hand her a pill to take just breaks my heart. This is only day 3 after hearing of this news and I have been an emotional wreck and having such a hard time coping with this. We are taking her in to see her pediatrician today (per their request) and go from there. Is there anyone that could give me some advice or send some good vibes my way? I'm so upset to learn this about my baby girl.

Im the same way I’ve had hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease since I was 6 years old possibly earlier but they didn’t think I had it since I was so young. I got the radioactive iodine done when I was younger. Im 24 now and its possible came back not sure have to hear from the doctors but just stay positive it honestly gets so much easier but with the iodine medication I took to treat the Graves may come back after 10 years which it has been but I’m staying positive myself making sure to never skip the meds!!

My daughter's hear rate kept getting written off as nervousness for being at the DR or hospital. I KNEW it was too high and my daughter wasn't THAT nervous! We are the best advocates (and sometimes only) for our children. I pushed for testing after noticing more changes and buying a device to test her BP and HR at home with the results as my ammo. You've got this. Your daughter is lucky to have you by her side to be her voice and concern and to make things happen! (PS, in Canada, "free" healthcare but to go above and beyond or investigate something not immediately killing you, you have to PUSH and sometimes fight) You got this, Mama.

You should look into autoimmune disease, I had like 20+ symptoms (anxeity, asthma, IBS, insomnia, etc) but was able to get rid of almost all of it by not eatting gluten, dairy, soy and doing less grains. I did the autoimmune protocol diet and it pretty much saved my life. It sounds like you might have some autoimmunity stuff going on, there's hundreds of dieses and symptoms that can be from autoimmunity. Might be worth looking into!!

And get t4 and t3 tested every so often or if you feel funny. I had my thyroid killed with radioactive Iodine 20 years ago. Then took the same levothyroxine dose for 20 years and felt great. All of a sudden became severely hyperthyroid again on that dose. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me for 2 months. Kept saying it was anxiety and tried to give me antidepressants. Turns out my tsh was 0.002. And I had already lost 30lbs since I first went into the ER. Get your tsh and t4 t3 tested before you ever go on anxiety or sleep meds. How are you doing now?

I've got Grave's and would recommend avoiding iodine (seafood, yoghurt, baked potatoes). Start taking magnesium supplements to help with fatigue. It's not just your muscles but your entire nervous system that's fatigued. I've tried many different supplemants and it's the one that I instantly felt an improvement in my condition after taking it.

I just got diagnosed with this yesterday, and for some reason I was just so sad- im currently 15 years old and everyday I felt as if I was lagging behind other kids in my school- not even being able to walk up the short stairs without hyperventilating, feeling as if I'm about to faint- and sweating so so much? My heart rate had also gone over 160+ even when resting normally but I thought that was the same as others? my eyes and neck had also been protruding but I had never thought anything of it because it seemed so minor? my appetite had also extremely increased but compared to what I was eating I never did seem to gain weight (I thought I just had great metabolism)- this video has taught me so much and I feel happier knowing what my body is going through, the initial shock is still there as I've always seen myself as pretty healthy- I think I just cried for a whole day because I felt I was too young for this and taking medication and undergoing ultrasounds and always having to do EKGS made me feel scared- but I'm now very aware and will be careful in the future- its only been a day but I feel as if my heart has definitely been going slower after taking pills and I'm excited to feel better! thank you♡♡♡

I'm so happy I found someone I can relate to here in the comments section ^-^ !! honestly, like you said, everything that everyone else found easy just became so hard and frustrating for me- I felt as if there was something wrong with me, but I never thought it was anything medical :( getting diagnosed made me feel happy because my sisters, my friends had always told me that I was struggling just because I was way too unathletic and such- no one had really thought it was anything that related to my health severely- but then after getting diagnosed- while I was relieved that I could have a solution- it made me feel like all the sick kids I saw in movies or in shows, and i started to feel as if I was one of them- and that scared me somehow? I remember when I got diagnosed- I just had never seen my mom cry so much and it broke my heart :( she was really the only person who had stuck with me and had listened to my problems- and she's truly the most important person to me 💓 I'm grateful that I don't have thyroid cancer or anything too extreme but having to take pills and having to have appointments makes me feel a type of strange feeling I don't how to describe? I truly hope it doesn't evolve to anything and that we both are happy and healthy! As for me- its only been one day since I've started my medication-but my heart rate has gone down from 170 to 88! Sending u all the love and good wishes too!.... before I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism,I was used to feel really tired and anxious all the time,my eyes are bulged too....I remember during group dance rehearsals,I wasn't able to focus and I literally didn't have any energy to do the dance steps,still I did it...but I was not able to give my best, I really felt sad at that time, I thought that this was due to my laziness or something like that......I really felt low that time like what's wrong with me.....even during a trip with friends,I was getting tired all the time....so instead of coming back home happy and afresh,I was crying and feeling bad ......I never imagined that it could be a medical problem.....when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism,my mother cried a lot ,after coming back home,....I assured her that everything will be alright soon... Positive outlook is what that's going to help us right now......crying or negative thoughts won't help at all.....here school is online right now due covid-19 outbreak,so Iam able to attend the online classes and focus on my health as of now....so iam feeling ok,though not completely and heart rate is between 80-85 bpm Hopefully we both get out of this soon....it's like whole life changed in instant,but hopefully very soon now we both will be completely alright ❤️....I can't wait to live my life afresh and with energy!

From what I’ve seen/read after the treatment it’s very likely I’d develop hypothyroidism ( under-active thyroid) So the way I see it I’d still be having to take medicine either way. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was 29 years old. I was a mess, nervous, anxious, panic attacks, sweating, itching, hand tremors, weight loss. Went to an endocrinologist who put me on beta blockers, then had radio active iodine. Within in two to three months I put on 12 lbs. The hand tremors stopped..ETC… Am now 69 years old and feel great. No more high blood pressure, no more anxiety. Although I weigh more I feel 1000 percent better than I did in my 20s. I am now hypothyroid I was on Synthroid for 39 years have now switched to the generic / thyroid now because the Synthroid was getting to expensive. So far I do not feel any difference.

I just got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in the last few days from a cautionary blood test. I thought I was just developing really severe side effects from my antidepressant and wanted to get off it. Turns out, this is what has been plaguing me the whole year. I fit the vast majority of the symptoms. Muscle tremors and weakness, significantly worse mental health, terrible sleep and sleep patterns, constant tiredness, heart palpitations, a racing heart (my resting heartrate at the doctors today was 103) and tinnitus. Problem is, I didn't really have the unexplained weight loss so it went under the radar. I think probably from a combination of my antidepressant (which has messed with my weight before), an ongoing knee injury, and it making my pre-existing depression and anxiety much worse (as well as the energy issues). I was struggling just to get up everyday and sleeping all day. And eating whatever I had around me. So, I think it was left to get pretty bad. The doctor was very surprised on the phone with lab at the results, and immediately checked my pulse, made me get an ECG and have my blood pressure taken. Then I had to immediately go have an urgent blood test and an ultrasound. I don't know why, but I've just been put on propylthiouracil to begin with by the doctor instead of carbimazole. I don't think I have any of the conditions in this video though. I was told by the GP from the ultrasound report that I more than likely have autoimmune thyroiditis. But I'm in the early stages, where it's presenting as hyperthyroidism. And that overtime I might switch to having hypothyroidism. I now have to book into an endocrinologist though for it to properly diagnosed and treated.

@@DAEDRICDUKE1 Thanks for asking :) I did have silent thyroiditis (which is generally temporary) but when I failed to get better I was diagnosed with another hyperthyroidism condition called Toxic Multinodular Goiter as well. I'm an unusual case though. The vast majority of people with hyperthyroidism, especially younger women, just have Graves disease. I am basically a statistical anomaly. It's been pretty difficult getting my levels under control honestly. It took months for me to get diagnosed fully. I had a radioactive iodine treatment but had an uncommon reaction which made my hyperthyroidism even worse for a while and I wasn't responding well to medication. I think my levels are beginning to get better but it's really a waiting game to see if it's worked completely or not. In the meantime I take a stack of medication for it. Thyroid problems, especially hyperthyroid conditions are really finicky haha I hope you are well. If you have a thyroid problem and/or have a question feel free to ask me and I'll try to answer it. It's one thing to hear about a condition. But it's pretty different living with it :)

I'm sorry to hear this ,i got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and graves disease in 2018 after struggling with severe weight loss ,heart palpitations and hunger issues , i didn't take medication seriously and that led to a thyroid storm that almost took away my life. I started taking medications once again ,my weight is still fluctuating but the quality of life is better. Sometimes i feel tired ,chest pain and sometimes cant swallow saliva or take sugary food ,it makes my saliva very sticky , been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks , feeling suicidal and my life is generally terrible. This sounds like what my dad might have. All of a sudden his anti-anxiety medication stopped working and his anxiety skyrocketed. He has to have an AC blowing on him at all times. He dropped 20 lb in 3 months without even trying despite being 80 years old and having an extremely carb laden diet I'm not exercising at all... he should by all means be gaining weight,..also when I looked at his blood pressure readings, some days the pulse rate is normal and other times it's almost twice what it should be and I hadn't really thought much about that part because I know he gets angry and thought maybe his pulse rate had doubled because he was upset about something when he took his blood pressure, but putting all these things together it looks like this could be his problem so I have contacted the doctor and requested a TSH test as well as t3 and t4. I hate to say it, but I kind of hope this is what he has because we have been going on 3 months now with no end to this anxiety in sight and it has been literally insane! It's Disturbed everybody's lives and he is straight up miserable because the anxiety is so bad! And none of the seven or eight different medications they have given him has worked. So I'm really hoping it's his thyroid and it somehow managed to fly under the radar for this long without it being checked. I do know in 2017, they detected a nodule but didn't think it was a big deal at the time so nothing was ever done about it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi, I know what he's going through. I lost 60 lbs carrying my last child. The anxiety is so debilitating. My thyroid was hyper, I took RAI uptake they killed my thyroid basically, it's so small now. then I went to hypo and leveled off a bit and now it's going back to hyper. I have extreme sweats, no sleep, depression, fatigue.... but I am pushing myself to work out, bike, and hike. I will not give into this. I don't think they know what my thyroid is doing. I am told I have Hashimoto's and then told I have Graves. I will tell you to do this one test. ANA to see if your dad has the antibodies. I tested positive and had high titers of 1:1280. God bless. Nightbot you might have a vitamin B-1 (thiamine) deficiency. Magnesium is an essential co-factor for absorbing thiamine. It helped me tremendously with body pain, anxiety. It's common for a person who is increasing thiamine intake to feel an odd, brief flutter of the heart just momentarily . In my case the pain relief it brought was sudden and stunning. If you're short on thiamine your body's "electrical system " won't work well.

1994 i was rush to an emergency because of hypocalemia, thwn later on become a hyperthyroidism. Sweating, weight loss, palitation, muscle weakness and joint pain. My meds are ptu 3 tabs 3x a day in my first 3 months and being reduce by my endo when she feels that i have to reduce it until i only take it once a day as maintenance. Iam have hyperthyroidism too....iam really worried about that.....do all those who suffer from hyperthyroidism have to take radioactive iodine at a point of time or will it get resolved with medicines??....plz tell if u have any information about it...

@@kittypaw7302 hi! for me it was decided that i should take radioactive iodine bc the medicine wasn't enough to heal my hyperthyroidism (it would come back everytime i stopped the medicine). so i guess for you it must be the same: it depends if the medicine works on your thyroid. but anyway i took the iodine on monday, and it was just a pill so don't worry ☺️
