Anyone else start experiencing extreme anxiety/panic once you started having ear problems? I’ve never suffered from anxiety but I’m thinking that my anxiety/panic & ETD is connected. Once my ears start feeling funny, my anxiety/panic is up.

As a child I had numerous ear aches, because of this I have had cracked and or busted eardrums and to this day I have a hole in my right eardrum. I had tubes put in as a child and it helped to some extent. Somewhere around the age of 11 or so I saw an ENT and he told me how to pop my ears as shown in this video by holding your nose and blowing. Once I was able to perform this with little to no trouble my earache (inner-ear infections) and eardrum problems were all but gone. With the hole I currently have in my right ear it does make it hard to properly pop that ear. I am 50 yrs old and still use this method today successfully.

People smoking has caused me all kinds of ear, nose, & throat problems. From the 40s to the mid 90s, you couldn't get away from that crap. It's a lot better now but damage has long since been done. Shit, they even smoked like looney tunes in the hospitals back then. Everybody smoked everywhere. Car- Truck- Train exhaust, (diesel), & wood fired stoves etc. 24/7/365. The only way that I have had to clear the tubes is with surgery & medical irrigation proceedings. Not fun at all. I've have tried (everything) known to alleviate my chronic sinusitis-rhinitis problems to date. Nothing works. Even so, a very very good video & thanks for posting it.

Thank-you so much for such a well done, clear and easy to understand explanation. At my first ENT practice I was told by 2 different doctors that the continuing fullness in my left ear was allergies. I asked why just the one ear, and the ear that gave me severe pain when I had the flu, ruptured while waiting in the emergency? That they prescribed me a steroid nasal spray given for fullness then, that affected my taste & smell. I wish I had read the fine print listing that as a side effect. No answer other than try and figure out what I’m allergic to, surprised that the spray effected me. That wasn’t even the main reason why I was there, it was for the right ear treatment for a vertigo, BPPV, when ear crystals for balance, move out place, a series of head maneuvers, can fix it when it flares up. My taste and smell has improved somewhat but never the same, some things taste weaker, or just don’t taste the same. I gave up for a few years, the pressure came and went for a few days, a week, but the tinnitus never left. I was afraid of medical help after a nasal spray damaged my senses. But now the pressure has returned with dizziness for over a month & getting worse, it’s hard to work, it wakes me up when I turn, I hear a swishing sound and dizziness, I am irritable! Just waiting for an appointment to see another specialist.

thanks for the most clear explanation. I have been suffering from this for the past 20 years. most ENT doctors pass off my resultant tinnitus as idiopathic ! unfortunately grommets are not a long term solution and the balloon surgery is still new and not totally successful. it can end up making it worse and the blockage can return. Neti helps me a bit.

I suffer with this condition. I also have Cervical Instabilities. I have Tinnitus, TMJ issues, ear and sometimes eye pains, Chronic Sinusitis, Fullness in the ears, even some moments of poor balance. My ENT / Larynigologist sees me 2 X a year. I never had that Balloon method applied to ETubes or sinuses. What I do remember was taking a business flight some 35 years ago, my ears gave me a piercing pain upon ascent, buy worse on the decent. That fullness would last for over 24 hours - all stuffed up ears with muffled hearing. Ever since that event, even subtle ascents and decents on Hilly Road affect my ears! I do have allegeries but IMHO I think the Cervical Issues are a main Contributor to this condition. The hayfever and /or allegery reactions are getting worse every year. Now being treated with sterioid sprays . Flonase, and nasal sprays. The bouts of Sinusitis (worse if Rhinitis kicks in too) leave me terribly Fatigued, sinus pressure, and sinus headaches galore. My next move will b e to insist on a CT Scan. My Cervical issues stem from the Lumbar issues that have traveresed up the spine over the decades.

If you’ve had this for a long period of time, you need to be sure and get tested for lupus. It is a blood test just for Lupus. I had lupus for years without knowing by the time they discovered it, I had lost hearing in both of my ears and the condition described in this video. The Lupus blood test will only be done if you request it from your doctor . It is never included in normal CBC test.

Has anyone had any of the surgeries mentioned in the video? If so, was it successful? Why I ask is that I have this condition. It's crazy because I never have had trouble until a couple of years ago and I'm in my mid-40's! Anyone that has this can attest that the symptoms greatly impact a person's quality of life. Personally, I have to squeeze my nose to perform that procedure that was mentioned in the video several times a day. Everytime I do this, I hear a loud screeching sound within my ear as the pressure is being released! It's very frustrating to say the least and am seriously looking into having surgery done to correct this. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Take care everyone.

These are my main symptoms for 2 months since I had strep A tonsillitis; • Pressure between eyes, very top of head and bridge of nose. It's never painful but feels like I'm being pumped full of air. • Tinnitus which changes pitches and volumes throughout the day, with some intermittent popping sounds and very occasionally some slight pain inside either one of my ears • Occasionally a bit lightheaded but not dizzy or off balance. No congestion or any noticeable discharge. • Only thing that helps is a hot bath which gets rid of everything apart from the tinnitus I'm under ENT and take Fliconase for Rhinitis but last week they had a quick look at the top of my nose with a scope and said there's no inflammation. I also recently had a tympanomotry test which was normal so he said I don't have eustachian tube dysfunction. ENT wanted to send me away with more steroid sprays but I wasn't happy so they reluctantly agreed to do a sinus CT scan. I'm now sat here waiting to find out the results but my anxiety has been through the roof which I'm convinced makes all my symptoms worse. Could it be at the time of the tympanomotry my tubes were working but then a few hours later the results could have been completely different? Best of luck to all of you also experiencing these ENT problems 🤞

Covid did my ears. Four months ago and Gp ' s still cannot tell me what it us. Tingling in my face and behind and in the front of my ears. Now l think it is eustachian dysfunction. When l yawm l can feel pressure build up in my inner ears like a rumble as if the tubes are struggling to .open. i am going to,use a simple device once delivered as mentioned the Otivent.. It could be glue ear and the mucsus has become thick in the tubes causing bllockages.

There may be an easier solution to eustachian tube dysfunction with the use of Xclear nasal spray that contains mostly xylitol and sea salt. The xylitol does inhibit the Streptococcus mutans bacterial activity, which may be an underlying cause that perpetuates the production of mucus in the Eustachian tube. I'm finally finding relief with the use of Xylitol with sea salt nasal rinse and alternating with the Xlear spray.

@@kyleaguilar2727 Sorry that you're suffering from ETD too. I'm still not out of the woods yet using the Xclear nasal spray. But I have to say that using it has kept me from catching the flu, which would have made my ETD worse. In my assessment of my own condition, it feels like an auto-immune reaction, where my own system is continuously producing mucus even if the Xylitol is doing a great job of fighting off excess bacterial activity. So I've decided to put a stop to the vicious cycle of phlegm production by doing the following while continuing with the Xylitol spray. 1. abstaining from sugar and starchy carbohydrate intake 2. consuming some hot capsicum in the form of hot sauce daily, which seems to be aiding in opening up the Eustachian tube. 3. do chlorine dioxide therapy at least 3x a day (I keep it to 3:3 drops each time). I'll report within a month if this has been effective at all. I wish you also a thorough recovery from this debilitating condition.

I have always had sinus issues. But right when I took my first covid vaccine (Pfizer), I started having tinnitus in my ears and had 15% hearing loss in my left ear and 5% in my right ear. Doctors said there is no connection with the vaccine (but im not so sure). Anyway, I had a cold a couple of months ago and it took me almost 2 months to recover. I had to go on antibiotics twice and now I have ETD. Its a horrible feeling of deafness and my quality of life has declined significantly. The doctors put me on Dymista (steroidal nasal spray $150) which has helped me a little bit. I think I may have permanent hearing loss and I always have a buzzing sound in my ears like a furnace and ringing. My hearing is slowly coming back and my right ear doesnt sound like a blown speaker any more. I never thought losing your hearing (or any of your senses) could be so traumatic. I pray everyone who suffers from this recovers soon! God bless!

Makes me so uncomfortable my right lymph node swells a little bit and makes me tweak out. I can’t be comfortable high anymore so I had to quit. It sucks and doctors keep telling me I’m ok taken like 3 different blood tests came bake ok I took 2 different antibiotics, nose sprays nothing works. I don’t get the panic attacks while I consume cannabis but I just get anxious b/c it makes me feel like I am loosing hearing so yeah.. that part gives me anxiety.
