I agree with Ali. I don't know why they are testing for dissolved minerals. As a retire Master Plumber and water supply protection specialists, the filter notes on Brita, it is designed for TASTE and ODOR. there is no claim of the product on scale, sediments or mineral removal. Read your labels people from the manufacturer! If you want a filter for mineral remover to become distilled water then buy one that states as such.

You want minerals in your water, it’s the chlorine you don’t want and the brita is best for getting that out

While this is true, it's not relevant. We get far more minerals from food. I'd rather have my water free of chlorine, fluoride, lead and mercury than worry about trace amounts of minerals in water. I'll get my minerals from food thanks.

From a website explaining TDS total dissolved solids. 2000 Unacceptable: A TDS level above 2000 ppm is unsafe and household filters can not properly filter this level of contamination States nothing bad will happen when it is low. Just flat tasting water.

Although Zerowater is by far the best, the filters cost an arm and a leg compared to the competition (£40 for 3 at the time of this comment). The bottled water also generates a lot of limescale in my experience. So although I have a Zerowater, I ended up buying a Brita. It got rid of the limescale issue, and the filters are far cheaper and 3rd party options are available. (£20 for 6 genuine Brita filters)

A reverse osmosis 5/6//7 stage system is the best option especially one that re-mineralises the stripped water. The ZeroWater is a gimmick and doesn’t actually give much health benefits… In my opinion, 1st place is the bottled water,2nd (close) is Brita then Last is ZeroWater
@bensengil8635 Жыл бұрын
that reader you are using doesn't tell you what it's containing. Natural spring water will read about 150-200 (which are actually healthy minerals) and show 300+ in sink water (we all know how dangerous and toxic sink water can be, exp in the U.S). So, this isn't really a good way to conclude anything since the reader only measures particles other than water in it. Keep in mind that reading 0 means it is just water= which means it will actually take minerals out of your body to even out: leaving the body with less minerals it was before. It is best to drink spring water. PS i used to use zerowater since the sink water is pretty scary (in the US) that can filter out lead (it is the only filter that takes lead out of the water is the zerowater filter. The downside: takes everything out).

Having no TDS doesn't make for the best water filter. For example, ZeroWater is not so great at removing chloroform and trihalomethanes despite having a TDS of zero. The closer to zero TDS the water is the more like rainwater or RO water it becomes. It is very plain and bland tasting. You don't necessarily want your water filter to filter out everything because a lot of the minerals in the water are good for you and even some of the metals. This is why ZeroWater filtered water often doesn't taste so great compared with other brands as it is the farthest away from bottled mineral water that you can get.
