ZeroWater (ZW) wins for use in our Coffee Maker, Teapot and GE Opal Ice Maker. Zero TDS has resulted in Zero mineral deposits in these appliances! We use the larger ZW on our countertop and take a pitcher with us when we travel. We have a reverse osmosis filter system and purposely stopped replacing its filters because we use the ZW as a final filter. Thanks for making this video!

Would have been good if you independently checked the fluoride... There's conflicting test results for the ZeroWater... some like Modern Castle show 100% reduction fo Fluoride, and Freshnss channel showed 0% fluoride reduction for the Zerowater filter. Others show 41%... and an anti-fluoride website also showed 100% fluoride reduction.

Regarding your alkalinity results, the recommended levels mentioned are in ppm, parts per million, and the test was showing mg/L. These are not the same unit of measurement, ppm is a volume-to-volume or mass-to-mass ratio, mg/l is a mass-to-volume relationship. So, who knows what this test actually shows. Also you ignored the part where the recommended alkalinity for drinking was actually quite higher, at 30-400. The lower level recommended for "domestic water supplies" is likely for plumbing reasons, and not for consumption, as shown by the next sentence on the slide....

I have Zero Water filter and I found it very difficult to use. (1) I could not tighten the filter no matter how hard I tried, so the water still leak through the side. (2) The flow rate is very slow especially when you can only fill it a small amount at a time, therefore it’s very time consuming. (3) Mold can grow on the filter in less than a month time even the TDS meter still said zero. So all together, I am very disappointed with Zero Water

Zerowater is the only filter I've used (besides reverse osmosis) that actually made the water taste like bottled water. Brita, Pur, and Watrdrop didn't give as good results. The only sad thing is, if you live in a high tds area the Zerowater filters don't last very long (as you said). My solution was to buy a countertop Reverse Osmosis and then put that water into a Zerowater pitcher.

I guess thier argument around alkalinity may be they if you mix the water with something, for example coffee low alkalinity could be an issue as pH will drift more than if it was higher affecting taste. Certainly health wise it would make no difference good or negative.

I went to cosmetology school and we learned a lot about ph balance. More science involved in cosmetology than people realize. So for your skin and hair, you need acidic water. Our skin and hair is naturally acidic. As far as internally, we are supposed to be more alkaline. So for ingestion, alkaline is best, neutral ph is just fine though. Now regarding skin and hair, you don’t want to shower with a filter that makes the water alkaline. Skin is our largest organ and it’s important we are mindful of what we put on our skin which is thus absorbed systemically
@deeka123

For ingestion alkaline is best… not sure if that’s necessarily true. Our stomach is extremely acidic, and our blood is kept at a tight range 7.35-7.45. pH is necessarily a concern, especially for water.

I bought the Zero Water recently. My original tap water was a not too bad 280 PPM. The Zero Water brought it down to 008. My biggest complain about my tap water was the taste. Not good. Zero Water did the job there. My biggest complaint about Zero Water is the pitcher they give allegedly for placing the filtered water in the fridge for future use. The pitcher, especially the cap assembly, is crap. I am using a different pitcher for that purpose, pouring the filter water into it. My other complaint is that I have not been able to completely seal the screw-on filter to the small tub. It drips a bit of the tap water into the filtered water. That's probably why the reading was 008 instead of 003.

I have seen about 5 very filtertests/comparisons here on YT, and the most convincing for me is the ZeroWater. Interestingly the both cheapest filters are in the Top 5. Aqua Crest and Epic Water are too expensive for me. The most important tests are the Fluoride and Chlorene Test, specially for US americans. In some regions they have even toxic water because of the fracking. I for my part prefer the ZeroWater pitcher, because it wins in more points than the Waterdrop and has TDS on incredible 0%, so very trustworthy. I don't wanna have any particles in my water! ;P But both are very good and much better then many others. One other point is, that we use in germany and austria also very much other principles of water cleaning and energizing, for example with carbonite, colloidal silver, semiprecious stones, magnets, swirling it, storing it in amphores of clay, or making water-information procedures in the Masaru Emoto style on glass pitchers... How it's said, many ways lead to Rome. ;) I will try experimental series with different combinations of all methods here mentioned, to find out which is the most convincing, effective and practicable solution.

The Brita classic filters need to be submerged in water at all times but I've not seen any mention of whether this is necessary with the Waterdrop and, just like in your video, I keep seeing the water level below the filter. Got a reply from Waterdrop and they said "if you don't leave the filter unused for a very long time, you don't need to worry about that the filter will be dry. Only if you pour some water into the pitcher, the filter will keep wet. You don't need to keep the filters always wet." So there you go.

Why? Just because it is a toxic substance that requires a Material Data Sheet number for storage doesn't mean it is toxic or dangerous or anything, does it? Lead is fine for paint and gas too - until it's not. Fluoride was added to our water for the aluminum industries sake, not our teeth. There are studies that seem to indicate that it is actually bad for our teeth. Maybe it is and maybe it isn''t, but chlorine is a deadly gas and likely should be filtered out of your water after it kills the living organisms, just like fluoride should be.

As previously explained, your explanation for the Zero water filters having a fishy smell after only a few uses was not correct in my experience. After only three or four fill ups, the water not only smelled terrible, it tasted sort of metallic and sour. My pitcher was never kept in the sun nor was it kept in warm environment. The really curious thing was the fact that the initial filter lasted months with no foul smell or taste. Zero Water couldn't explain what was causing the problem and they replaced the filters for free a few times but ultimately I gave up because it simply didn't work and was way too expensive to keep using it. I now use a Brita pitcher that uses the filter that filters the water as you pour it as opposed to the normal Brita filter that filters when you add the water. It tastes great and lasts a long time. It also has an indicator to tell when the filter needs to be replaced. I suspect, the flaw in the Zero Water filter is that it somehow chemically reaction with something in my water and there are thousands of other people experiencing the same thing with Zero Water pitchers. Like that original tester mentioned, TDS is not a good measure for the quality of water and many dissolved particles are actually healthy minerals that are desirable for drinking water.

@@LivingWellTV I saw a test where it said that the water drop one does not change how hard the water is. However the Zero water one did. I would get both and run the water through both filters. I have been double filtering my water for sometime. I have a fauset mounted pure filter and I run it into a brita pitcher.

It looks like a lot of people who watched the Modern Castle comparison video missed that the lab results (Objective) were done by one company, but those results were then evaluated by a different company, which ranked the results (Subjective). The problem with that is that you can make any of those filters "The Best" or "The Worst" depending on how you weigh each category; category weight is subjective. The bottom line is there is no perfect solution, no perfect water filter. The general conclusion of this video is excellent: Know your local water and establish your priorities regarding what you Don't want in your water and what you Will Accept in your water. Some people resort to buying the water filters of different companies to achieve the best results for them as different filters have different strengths and weaknesses. • Conclusion: Watching these shootout videos provide very helpful information, but their determination of The Winner is not objective. Considering the various filters different capabilities, local water variabilities, cost and subjective qualities such as "taste," there will never be a "Best" water filter. Set personal goals for what you want filtered out and choose accordingly. You have to determine what is "Best" for yourself.

YOU ARE SO LUCKY YOU DON’T GET FLUORIDATED WATER! (I’m in America..) How the hell does drinking flouride prevent cavities when we’re supposed to floss & brush with flouride already?? The risks are so much greater than the tiny reward!

regarding your alkalinity slide. "the recommended range for drinking water is 30-400 ppm". waterdrop is within the range at 140, while zerowater is outside the range at ~10, yet you question the waterdrop? also, are you saying high tds is good or bad? your summary said if you have high tds, to consider the waterdrop even tho it had zero effect on tds, whereas the zerowater removed all of the tds.

Funny, I just watched and caught that mistake, however, the recommended levels mentioned are in ppm, parts pert million, and the test was showing mg/L. These are not the same unit of measurment. ppm is a volume-to-volume or mass-to-mass ratio, mg/l is a mass-to-volume relationship. So, who knows what this test actually shows.

Caught that immediately too. Also, he never states his experimental testing method, so we have no idea what variables remained constant, etc. Modern Castle tested 10 DIFFERENT (no focus on zero water) filters, stated their testing method, and provided the raw lab data in an Excel sheet under the video. They even provide links so you can purchase any of the 10 filters in the video. We have no reason to believe they are affiliated with WaterDrop. Unlike in this video, where it is clear this guy has a strong bias toward ZeroWater, which is a bad start to any experiment.
