I remember Brennan saying on the roundtable wrap-up that it was thematically appropriate that Zerxus was able to redeem Vespin long enough to save the players and buy Zerxus more time. He didn't want to send the message 'being compassionate is a flaw that will lead to ruin'. Zerxus' wish to redeem Asmodeus was used by the god to pull himself through, but it also allowed him to avoid the worst case scenario of Exandria being destroyed.

yeah it was such a thematically beautiful way to handle it. Zerxus fucks up with Asmodeus because he’s not JUST acting out of compassion-he’s arrogant enough to think he can redeem the literal god of lies. But the moment with Vespin was the pure compassion and empathy of looking at a man who made the same mistakes as you and reaching out a hand to help him, and Brennan rewarding that made for such a fantastic moment

Despair and hope such strange things. After Asmodeus came back and fucked up shit, I wasn't sure how they could win. 1 down, 2 dead, 1 away, another running, and another changed. I had lost all hope. Then one act turned it around. One leap of faith saved them all, and saved the world. To me, Vespin was exactly like the Ring of Brass. He thought he could do something good, and was to prideful to think of the consequences, nearly dooming the world. Then, at the final hour, when it's needed most, giving the world one last chance. A story of Pride and destruction, but also one of Hope and Redemption. In the words of Matt, "God I love this game."

Amazing video! Just a super quick heads up, the runes you used for the thumbnail are mostly just basic norse runes, but the one on Luis' forehead is actually called a 'winged othala' and is exclusively an alt right symbol. I'm guessing it came up when looking for cool runes which I totally understand, just wanted to drop you a line and let you know!

It was part of the Pre-roman European alphabet before the Germans adopted it as a Nazi symbol. They basically threw a bunch of letters up, it doesn't necessarily mean it had the alt-right meaning behind it.

Whoa totally did not know that, I just looked up Infernal Runes, of course found nothing, and found a Norse Runes video that luckily came with a keyable background lol. Thanks for the tidbit of knowledge there =)

@@jayquinn3962 They did that to a ton of runes! Unfortunately that one is known as a "winged othala" and is an alt right creation. the original othala rune doesn't have the wings seen at the bottom, and this altered version is entirely a fascist symbol unfortunately.

I do appreciate your uploads but please consider adjusting the sound level of music and effects. The music and the fire effect are louder than Brennan's voice, making it hard for the ears to focus on the dialogue. The effects later in the video are a lil loud but not problematic because they're not covering dialogue.

Fun fact: the Symbol on his forehead in the thumbnail and probably in the actual video isn't a Nordic rune. It's a neo-nazi symbol, you can tell by the wings near the end where the actual rune would have straight lines

Thanks for the reminder! Skye mentioned altered rune previously and I made a new thumbnail removing it and forgot to swap it out =p
