One of the reasons why it's fragile is that it was already on the verge of obsolescence in AC 195...there were other designs that were already being fielded at the time to replace it, and if not for the massive war breaking out, it would have been shifted to the Civilian-Type worker setup and surplussed out. The Taurus, Capricorn, and Aires were all replacement designs that were already ready to go when Operation Meteor was starting, and the timing of it was, partially, to hit before OZ and company could upgrade their forces. One of the comparisons would be taking some Korea/Vietnam era jet fighters and put them up against the most current F-22s with elite pilots...

Imagine if the Tallgeese was mass produced and turned into mobile dolls. The damn thing could literally go far beyond what any of the Gundam pilots were used to seeing it being capable of since the doll version of it wouldn't be limited by the one flaw holding the tallgeese back...the human pilot.

I do like the idea of a Leo with the performance of the Tallgeese, flight capabilities of the Aries, and overall this is basically a Tallgeese-type Leo. If there is an HGAC Aries, I will definitely kitbash it with the Leo.

5:57 I would say there are 2 main reasons for the Tragos to have its walking mode. First for mor mountainous terrain where the hover skirt is impratical or even counterproducive. And second to give it some last ditch options if its hover skirt is damaged. It can do some minor self defense, and if it's already near the back of the battle it can retreat. A mobility kill is a serious disaster and having a backup walking form is good. It really needs at least one emergency beamsaber.

As far as i understood the Tragos, the "inferior mobility" refers to Tragos WITH hover unit to WITHOUT hover unit. Compared to the Leo the Tragos STILL is an IMPROVMENT.

It's definitely more sluggish than a Leo in walk mode, but it does let it operate in terrain where the hover unit wouldn't work.

There is also the MO-V Leo which had a few other modifications to it, one of the believed upgrades was replacing the armor with gundanium at some point along with a few "retro" modifications that brought it closer to the original Tallgeese data as a full on custom upgrade for the Leo. There is also the Leo Type V from the Mars Century stuff along with the drone Leo. Back in the AC part of the timeline, you also have the Leo Civilian Type which could be configured in a lot of different ways, and was a civilian de-milled version of the Leo that was built from the surplus Leos after the end of the series.

the serpents and serpent custom will always be my fav grunt suit of any gundam series the design is awesome well rounded and just solid as fuck by extension i have to love the leo and just the rest of the wing grunt suits for being just really cool designs and honestly some of the most well designed suits period like gm and zaku lineages are great but in terms of designs you could see being made irl or just designed well enough you can just get their design and how they function the wing grunt suits and the leo lineage really really nailed it

In my school vr game there is a veriont of the Leo called the griffet a mobile armour Pacificly a Leo only mobile armour it where it a quardapedal mobile armour that can work in earth and space and it's base on a Griffen there where 15 made due to the cost ( Holly moly it's expensive) and unfortunately all where impounded by galahorn ARIANHROD FLEET for it was in MCgalise fareed side but 1 was stolen by a revolutionary soldier and then was destroyed by reborn goalius and the Pokémon mew ( In the game after goalius was killed by chainsaw man the Pokémon mew took his place so to help out )

the tragos having legs ment it could traverse anything its hover legs couldnt it makes sense overall to make it able to deal w any terrain asides the most extreme terrain an ares would be needed to get past and land travel was just impossible

Awesome video a favorite of mine growing up as a kid. I still find it weird that what I always thought to be a pistol and rifle turned out to be a beam gunn. That struck me as odd because beam weapons were the only thing effective against the Gundams yet the ones used by the Leo has no effect. And a Leo didn't use the Torres mega laser or the shoulder mounted cannons, nothing really worked in battle for the Leos. Maybe it's a dubbing error that just stuck all these years later.

The Tragos even in MS form was a better ground combatant than the Leo. It was only weaker than the leo when it came to Melee ability. The Leo IV Griff used thrusters based on the Aries and a cannon refined from the Tragos.

I love the Leo, but the truth is moving forward with a mass produced version of Heavy Arms is way better than the mass produced Tallgeese. Not only did the Serpent Customs prove a heavy arms grunt would be accemptionaey effective, but if we look at the ground type gundams and the EZ8 from the 8th MS Team, those units are more or less what we could expect from the Heavy Arms becoming the GM of the after colony universe. Also, I would love for them to update and make a mass produced Capricorn unit. Two Epyon heat whip shields on an improved Mercurios/Veieight…Or even a variant of the Toros made into the Capricorn would be dope.

The Leo type 4 grief is definitely one I want just for my collection and I would make a second one without the head horn and paint it up like wufeis late wife nataku in that dark blue purple color scheme just to put on display next to my glory of losers altron Gundam hg 1/144. I mean technically thankfully I just have to add the thrusters to the backpack and back skirt and the head horn also add some side skirt armor I mean other than a paint job that's not a lot of work really and I mean other than they already existing gray parts and the yellow around the head I just have to repaint the already existing green parts and the parts that I scratch build and make one little arm that mounts the dober gun and I can even keep the shield on the shoulder and put two beam sabers in there beam sabers on the side skirts just for extra weapons and if I really want to put a magnet on the inside of the side skirt or even put a piece of metal there under the paint job and put a magnet on the inside of the Leo machine gun so it could mount it on the side skirt when not in use
