ZETOR Tractor 6711 BRAKES SHOES REPLACED!!

Thanks for watching the video, today we are replacing worn out brake shoes on the Zetor 6711. Only one side needed replaced as they were seized solid! but the job went quite smoothly and we now have working brakes and a Handbrake on the tractor. Next on the list will be to remove all the panels and wheels for some sand blasting in certain parts.

@@RedShedProjectsScotland subscribed a couple of months ago,there were alot of zetors in ireland in the 70s 80s & 90s,.brakes seemed to be issue.have a 4911 and 4511.

Great video mate of all the video's I have seen; you are the smartest one. I have seem some people struggle taking those pins out using flame tortures and taking them from the bottom. they never show that those pins can be rotate it upside down and just hit them from the top where the brakes line connect too with a bolt and a hammer. Know I can have confidence doing the brakes on my zetor know thanks for the information! Shout from Houston Tx (USA)!

Great video, I'm trying to do something similar on an old 3511 at the moment. My problem is that the brake shoes are properly seized to the inside of the drum and I can't figure out how to get the drum off to replace the shoes. Any ideas?

Have you removed the Handbrake band ? I’m assuming it is a similar setup.

@@RedShedProjectsScotland Yeah, the 3511 is identical - I have the wheel off and the whole half axle assembly hanging off an engine crane - No problem getting the two rings off as well so I'm basically at the same point as you guys were at about 7.20 in the video. The drum just won't budge off the shoes at that point though. My long term last gasp option is to cut the drum off and replace it entirely but I don't really want to do that just yet.

@@RedShedProjectsScotland Yeah, was totally locked up. Tractor hadn't moved in about 15 to 20 years so I got the engine running and managed to free up one wheel with a bit of dragging and rocking but the other one just wouldn't free up. I've a box of new parts ready to go if I could only get the drum off. Getting the old handbrake band out is also proving to be a bit of a pain in the arse if you've any tips on that :)

Have you opened the vent that gives you access from the top ? It’s a bit fiddly
