Idk if you saw my comment before, but I'll say it again: You need to learn the quick roll. Roll, then cancel with a square, then you can do another roll, and repeat. This is the fastest way to move, and it works in ALL the Greek games, an it helps you get away from enemies quickly to grab chests.

Fun fact, the Titan chained up cursed to have his liver eaten by an eagle every day? That’s Prometheus, and he didn’t *just* grant fire to humanity. In Greek mythology he created humanity itself. So his punishment wasn’t just about giving away a treasure of the gods, fire, but also for favoring his own petty little “toys” more than the gods. One of the biggest reasons the Greek gods tend to be such jerks to humanity is because unlike most other creation myths, the gods themselves never had anything to do us coming into being, and in fact they largely see people as these little insects that got all over and infested their cool stuff.

Prometheus' voice actor is the legendary Alan Oppenheimer, that was the voice of Skeletor in the '80s He-Man & the Masters of the Universe. Also voiced the Prime Evil in Filmation's Ghostbusters and the friendly dragon Falkor in The NeverEnding Story. He's 93 years old, so literally a grand old man of voice acting.

Edit: just watched that part. I'm glad you picked it up hehe Oh man, my absolute favorite thing in the beginning is Gaia showing up, revealing that she watched Kratos through all of his life. The crazy part is that the narrator in the first game and the beginning of the second has the exact same voice as Gaia, implying that the narrator was actually Gaia all this time. Plot writing done right . Im in love with this series.

You are so right about these games being ahead of their time. This one in particular, it is easily the best PS2 game I’ve ever played. In fact, last week I dusted off the old thing and beat this game again just to prepare myself for this playthrough. Definitely wished I had the HD version on a few occasions, but it was still very enjoyable, and I don’t think I could say that about many games of that era. Also, I just played the PC version of God of War (2018) for the first time with my new set up and it is absolutely nuts how good the graphics are in that and Ragnarök! Enjoy the ride, you are playing some of the absolute best games ever made.

The guy outside was Prometheus: God of Fire in Greek mythology. As he explained, he gave fire to the mortals and Zeus considered that a betrayal - essentially, sharing the 'luxury' of fire with the mortals and closing the gap between the experience of being a god and a man, as well as giving them a potent tool - and sentenced him to the torture you see depicted in the game. It's also not dramatized for the game at all, it really is that brutal. Zeus is a total dick

@@matiasgagobro about the question around 1:31:25, those enemies are known as undead legionnaires and in the first game they were the main part of area’s army and they just spawn in god of war 2 just for the sake of it pretty sure they aren’t under anybody

Just a heads up, you can turn off Rage of the Titans by pressing both sticks. Its useful to deactivate it when encounters end so you don't waste any of the meter thats left.

So glad you're doing this! You should slow down and explore more, you missed like 6-10 chests already and one was a Gorgon Eye! That one room where you step on the plate and kick that statue through then roll through, you were supposed to break the top of the statue and drag it to the wall that had 3 chests up there and one was your first Gorgon eye! Love this game!
