But his overall power, strength and skill/technique are definitely at a higher level than in the first 3 games. The only reason that Current Kratos (Old Kratos, Dad of Boy, God of Hope, whichever you prefer) doesn’t showcase the strength you would expect from him in earlier games yet alone in his older age which should presumably mean he should actually be even stronger than before, is that he isn’t going all out like he used to. The only nerf he got was the fact he matured mentally and became a husband and father once again. He isn’t *trying to* massacre the Gods of the Nine Realms, the only motivation he has to fight without restraint is when Atreus’ well-being is at stake. Every time Kratos has been serious in fighting is when he is either trying to protect his family or when he was avenging his dead family.
