Hi Emerson, thanks again for your reaction on Amira. Big shout out to you, job well done. Did you ever listen to Floor Jansen, singer of nightwish, another Dutch topsinger? Listening to metal for pretty much most of my life, Amira's voice brings tears in my eyes and a lot of other metalfans as well, if you can believe their reactions. Beside opera, I would love to see Amira sing symphonic metal one day. This genre of metal has a lot of classical trained female singers. Greetings form the Netherlands

I have followed Amira ever since she appeared in the Holland Got Talent competition, and she indeed has a great voice for which I love her. Because I love opera, I regret that Amira does not seem to be on course to become an opera singer. This requires hard work even if you have a great voice. Amira still has a very limited repertoire of actual opera arias, she exhibits no propensity to act as an opera signer needs to do when she signs. If Zeus wants to compare, he could look at Patricia Janeckova, who is still studying operatic singing at age 21 in Ostrava, By age 16, she was the winner of an international Sacred Music competition in Rome, the only teen against a field of mature singers; a great interpret of Handel (Lacia Ch'io pianga), a hilarious doll in Offenbach's Chanson de la poupée (Oiseau dans la charmille), a mischievous Zerlina (Batti, batti, o bel Masetto), a libertarian, mocking Adina (L'elise d'amore, Une parola, O Adina), a sensual showgirl Giuditta (Mein Lippen... Freddy - I understand what you are saying but look at Amira Turnhuit "Think of me " The final notes here shows she has not lost her ability to sing Opera. IMO she is coasting through all this due to school and the need to not overstress her voice yet I think this will be the case until she is 18 to 20 and after school. I hope 2020 will be more revealing showing that she has not lost any of her magic shown through earlier years.

Caruso is supposed to have said (I don't have the exact quote in front of me) that singing effortlessly requires enormous effort. If he actually sang without effort, the results would be most unpleasant. I'm sure Amira is also expending a lot of effort.

The effort is not that she does't works hard. But that she does this with little movement . Watch when she sings with very little head movement like some and almost closed mouth. It was said once by a singing coach reactor most kids at that age have to open wider. It probably helps that she was running marathons and wining when she started. And, I heard she is running again

I KNOW people want to hear Amira no matter what, but I worry that that those high arias are damaging her voice. No one wants to hear that, of course. It's all, "Let the bird sing" and "God will protect her because He gave her that voice to demonstrate the glory of heaven." Rubbish. But she's going to sing in any case; probably too late to change anything. She clearly wants to keep going and be a big star. And she's succeeding in a major way. She COULD chose the way of Patricia Janeckova, but she would be giving up a lot to do that, and no guarantees that by the time she was ready to debut at 18, the world would still feel the same about her. So ... on she goes.
