i watched this from the female cop point of view at the time. the MDT didnt show that you had a Valid gun licence. eventhough you gave consent to the cop looking for your ID.(where she only looked for you ID and ignored everything else). a terry fisk(Pat down, she did say "i'm going to pat you down for your ID") can be performed without having to ask for your consent as it is not a full search. but if any large objects are felt (in this case the gun), it can allow cops to full search you properly. and that is what happened with you. as the MDT showed to the police that you didnt have a licence this was tried to be resolved by running the serial on the weapon that did not come back to you owning it. the cop followed all the sop's & laws. at no time was your rights infringed.
