I have had tension headache from age about ages 17 to about 45. The headache was very severe. I am now age 67. The headache is no longer. So, below is from what I have learned. Drinking caffeine can strengthen our blood vessel. Therefore, that is why it can stop headache. However, the day we don't drink, that effect is gone. The more caffeine this person will rely on caffeine. In the long run, the more caffeine this person relies, the worse the blood vessels in the head rely on it. In this case, stop drinking coffee or any caffeine actually helps to reduce the headache. If you feel the difference in coffee can make such a difference on you, you may want to consider not to take coffee any more or take only a little. There is a possibility is the quality and strength of the coffee you are taking. Tea is the same. I know a person who has strong headache who eventually found out that her teeth are not line up correctly in the mouth -- the upper and lower jars. She had the headache forever. Why my headache stopped? When I was about age 43, I had a major injury to my hands, wrists and went through pain control treatments for about two years and more. In total, I probably tried and under treatments for about more than 20 methods including medicine. Acupuncture helped a lot -- but it only works if the acupuncturist is good. I went to a pain control physician. He used different methods to treat me. The most amazing thing to me is that after the period, my headache is gone. My entire lifestyle changed. I had to slow down. For a period of time, I could only walk inside the house. Most of the time, I had to lie down to rest. That was for months and years. We want to hurry up to work and put too much agenda and goals in our lives. We do until we cannot move any more. I still work as a professional. That slow moving period fundamentally changed my life style or how I live. I cannot say when and how it how it happened. Anything may have including massage, swimming, hot tub, etc. I don't do any of these any more. You may want to visit a pain control physician. That is all what they do. Best regards.
