Mala is not new in Spore. 25 years ago already have mala already. It is not successful during that time as you will defecate red oil through your hot piping ass hole after you consume it. In that era, the older gen baby boomer & gen X & probably in between gen those are the generation have high expectation & taste of what food they consume especially the cantonese expects the taste of original cuisine. The younger gen just need their food to be red color, lots of chilli, salty, hot & spicy that's all. You determine these people know how to eat a not? Just imagine sub-standard cheap maggie noodle mixed with mala chilli oil is acceptable & can be put on the table. To me I don't eat all this mala because it is really junk food & basically you are paying to eat chilli oil. This tribal kind of food is really unhealthy & will in fact shortened your life, just imagine if you you put a pcs of pork meat & soak it in the chilli oil for a day or 2, you will see what happen to that pcs of meat....same goes to your stomach... & see how long you stomach flesh can sustain. Frankly speaking, you will end up eat medicine as food when you get old & sick. Reminder, this consider a hit & run business, the owner of the mala stall is not responsible of your health & your hospital bills!
Those mainland china spicy only target by destroying other food taste bud where similiar addicition to it. Not considered as good standard food in Asia.

@@SiakHuayLim-jk8tj agreed 👍gastronomy of spiciness should be of multiple layers of taste, think Indian, Peranakan, Indonesian Thai, theirs are complex and well paired curry / spice combinations, triggering the different depth of taste bud in a mixing, not that China mala rubbish that feels like a sudden tear gas attack.
