I'll give you another thing for you, Portuguese, to be proud of.... If you go to the Philippines and their capital Manila, and visit their "History Museum", you will see, right at the entrance of the museum a beautiful large scale model of a caravel. The brass plaque reads something like: 'IT WAS IN SHIPS LIKE THIS ONE THAT THE PORTUGUESE FIRST LANDED ON OUR SHORES etc etc" .... No mention of the Spanish at all. I've been there and seen it with my own eyes. If you then go to their number 2 city, Cebu, you will find references everywhere of Portugal and Portuguese Magellan. In one part of Cebu there is a large monument, and a hollow iron cross that contains the ORIGINAL wooden cross erected in Cebu by Portugal's Magellan. Fascinating to see Portugal hand in such distant parts of the world.

@@j1966t1969 A big friendship hug to you too, meu amigo :) but I am biased... my fiancee is a beautiful Portuguese girl with a smile that nearly knocked me off my chair the first time I laid my eyes on her.... Let me tell you that England are big fans of Portuguese football and Ronaldo is still missed at ManchesterUnited and also missed in Real Madrid... and now he's admired in Italy in Juventus. The guy is king and Mourinho is admired in so many countries. I classify Portugal as the perfect example of quantity versus quality... You are only 9 million but look at what you have done and, yes, I love England, thank you, but those two countries have most glorious History in Europe.
