Tekken is perhaps the deepest fighting game ever. I once read that most players barely use 50% of any characters moves in most matches they play against the computer or other people.

It is in a lot of ways... due to the deep movelists, it's very rare you meet a good player who uses a character the exact same way (unlike other fighting games). I try to use 85%-90% of a character's movelist, if not more. :)

I don't know about deepness, but I honestly think that Namco did a better game than Tekken and that's Urban Reign for ps2. So great for multiplayer with friends, I enjoyed the campaign many times as well. Extremely underrated fighting gem I would recommend to anyone. One thing for example that makes it better is that every character in Tekken can take same amount of beating and dish out same(or almost same) amount of damage, regardless the gender of the fighter and physical characteristics, while in Urban Reign it's done realistically. A girl fighter can't just simply destroy a "mountain" with a few combos.

Urban Reign is an underrated gem. Hahaha. I wish they made a sequel... but I'll settle for a next-gen HD remake with online play.

In terms of raw dodges, Steve is probably the best. Other characters have really good dodges during attacks or specific movement options that they can dodge attacks with. Some characters also have stronger sidesteps than others... Lili has a great sidestep, for one.

I knew it. I fucking knew IT!!!! I knew that Steve Fox is a very VERY dangerous character but many people say he is bad because they can't play him. It's because Steve Fox one of the most difficult TEKKEN characters ever since you need a good reaction to dodge the attacks because instead of kicks, he dodges. But if you can master that dodging like The guy did in this video, no one will beat you. Steve Fox is the best tekken character

speaking as a religious steve user, you guys have no idea how hard some of this guys timings are - like, no joke...to sway left or right is putting yourself prone to an attack on the get-go, and lets face it unless where all spammers the tekken community should stay a little classy shouldn't it? theres no honour in beating someone with the button mash. but back to the topic...this guy shows some real good shit, i think i'm pretty good with steve only because i'm an offensive fighter, when comes to what this guy does...i can probably only do what, 6/10 dodges at best? AT BEST!...overall good stuff dude, its a shame most people don't even realise the complexity of steves fighting but nevertheless guys, give him a go, there hasn't been another character who's fighting style can appeal to me as much as steves. (albiet Jin's EWHF) p.s - im in your mind lee fucken had me

Indeed, dodging with Steve is definitely risky and that's why I actually don't do it too often in serious fights (unless I'm trying to hit a specific move for a specific reason). One thing people might not realize is that this is a "dodge compilation"... it's not like I spam dodges with Steve all the time. Many of the dodges seen in this video are the ONLY dodges I used in that entire match. There's a lot more than dodging to consider when using Steve offensively or defensively. And I must say I've improved drastically with Steve since this video was made. ;)

7DMarty I totally agree man! I also main Steve and Jin. Ever since Steve got into the Tekken series I loved him. His unique fighting style is just so awesome, and he is way harder to play than most people think. Some think "Oh you mainly need 2 buttons to play Steve, since he barely uses any leg moves, I bet he's easy to play". Ohhhh how wrong they are... And even tho Steve is hard to play, I still enjoy it so much. I started to play with Jin in Tekken 7 as well besides Steve, and he is fun too, but he doesn't come close to Steve in terms of enjoyment for me :) STEVE FOX FTW!

Very hard to choose. Honestly loved every one when they were new. Tekken 5 had a big impact on me due to my local arcade scene, along with T5DR. Played the hell outta Tekken 6 online which was a great time. Put 4+ years into Tag 2 which is still fun to this day... and I know T7 is gonna be excellent. 😆👉

I play as Kazuya 99.9% of the time, I can take on anyone using any character, but if someone is very good and uses Steve Fox, I don't fancy my chances that much. Very awkward character, the most awkward in the game in my opinion though, 80% or more of my losses have been against Steve. Brilliant character though, one of the best. My top 3 favourite! :)
