Are u sure that he only has Form 3 level?! I always thought he had finished his high school education. I don’t know how true it is, but if this is the case, his English is way way better than a F.3 student, even a lot better than those from celebrity schools, seriously! He did make some mistakes, but it happens to all non-native speakers when u have to talk raw. Think about some people like Yip Lau Regina who used to be teaching in high schools and she also wrote English books years ago, but when she was being interviewed or when she was upset, she made mistakes in her spoken English as well. Tony’s English is good enough for daily conversation. See Chow Yuen Fat, he can speak pretty good English now and without very thick HK accent. And Tony too, I’m sure he hired some native tutor to instruct him how to remove his accent.

Tony’s English is absolutely good enough for daily conversations, and tbh even native speakers make grammatical mistakes too. But it’s not a reason for us to ignore grammar or mistakes. We can learn from others’ and our (as mmg mentioned in the clip, many Hongkongers make the same mistakes as Tony did in the interview) mistakes too!

The L sound is always tricky. He said you needed to 頂 your tongue. The L sound comes from your throat but to make the sound, people often stick their tongue out or touch the back of their front teeth. I'm not sure if 頂 is the right way to do it. I have never heard this Michael guy speak more than a sentence. It's an open question if he can even carry a conversation in English. I heard 梁朝偉 speak English years ago in another interview. My first reaction was I didn't know how to react because it was so unexpectedly impressive. I think this Michael guy is doing a disservice. If for anything, 梁朝偉's English skills should be celebrated. The fact that you have time to make a video w/ clips of his many interviews about the Shang-Chi film shows how sad and miserable your life must be. I’m sorry but when were you an expert in English? Are you a native English speaker? Yeah I didn’t think so and neither is Tony Leung but hey he gave it his best shot and we all do as we try to learn other languages to communicate with others. Isn’t that the point of becoming bilingual, trilingual, etc.? It’s for unity and to bring cultures together. Your lack of self worth really shows and that you have nothing else better to do except to critique a world renowned actor who has his own Marvel action figure and face on merchandise that’s sold everywhere now. Instead of trying to step on other people to make yourself feel or look better, you should take that energy and really apply that to yourself and areas where you’re lacking in. If you have the time and chance to make fun of Tony Leung’s English you’re really missing the point of the Shang-Chi movie and his role into making this film historical and the message it’s trying to convey.
