That little finger flick in his forehand topspin is crazy. Seems like it is not even a wrist flick but he keeps the handle loose in the fingers flicking that handle within the fingers for extra acceleration and spin

Zhang jike said himself in another video that his hand "leads" his "hip" for his forehand loop, which is quite a bit unusual for players at the highest level. But the advantage is much smaller and compact movement of his body.

Hello EmRatThich, thanks for the video, it is quite interesting. I would like to comment that including brief highlights about what to focus during the video would be very helpful, since the perspective of a couch surely notes details that may pass unnoticed by us. On the other hand i would like to ask for a video focused on the attack of long services. I understand that the decision and the footfork are key points. However analyzing which rotation and placement are good for certain situations would be very interesting. For instance, sometimes i can attack the service of my partners but the ones that have a counterattack game are quite problematic since the half long service attack is not that powerful most of times.

Practise your forehand with you thumb sso you get used to it. Even Dima doesnt change his grip always!

Hello Deda. I understand well your problem. To fix this problem. You need to loosen your grip! You hold it too hard, and apply the thumb too strong, so you don't have time to change to the Forehand grip. I think that you should loosen your grip! And apply the force only at the moment of contact.

i find for forehand, zjk's shoulder tighten too much and he does not use as much power from waist as does ma long. So ZJK's balls seem more explosive only from muscles, and can be fast like a bullet, while ma long's shoulder's fully relaxed, and power fully from ground up thru the waist. That's why Ma Long's fh loop like a cannon rather than bullet. Impossible to defend again.

The action structures of Zhang Jike and Ma Long are completely different. Zhang Jike's characteristic is: the energy of the ball is very high. Malone's characteristics are: very good continuity (high stability)

You are right. Zhang Jike said explicitly on another video (in Chinese) that his hand "leads" his body/hip in forehand loop, and uses quick forearm contraction for spin. This is very unusual and perhaps due to his injury issues at yonger age. But on the other hand, I think what his action gives him is very compact and much smaller movement for quick recovery.

Hey coach thanks for your video :). I am struggeling to make my game more agressive I have a fast and spinny topspin on both sides i just cant figure out where to play on the tabel. Please help me I am getting so frustrated ;(
@pingsunday6 жыл бұрын
Great! You have fast and spinny topspin. Sometimes, you don't need to win by "agressive" but try to win with consistency. Topspin topspin and vary the placement can help you win too.
@minplex71326 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah I should work on my consistany ^^ but I dont know where to place the balls. I play in the mens league and with my current strokes i just get every ball blocked where i cant apply pressure later

Oh and how about you make a training camp I'd more than happy to get real life coaching with you ^^

I'm coaching at a small club in near Poitiers. It's just for a young local players. Yes, a training camp is great. And I will plan to organize it, a place to sleep, contract with my club, and many thing to do. If you want to do a training camp, go for HGVTT in France, well known place (Hennebont table tennis club). they play in Pro A. Bests
