Everyone in China knows that SOHO builds the worst buildings. It's typical "looks good from far, but far from good". The buildings are functionally handicapped with some 30 story office buildings sharing just two elevators (all this is against Chinese building codes). The shoddy construction and materials are visible everywhere. You CANNOT find your way out of a parking garage in any of their structures!! Of course they know it because they don't own any of the buildings they've built. Typically, they flip the buildings as soon or even before it's completed by selling individual spaces to small investors who have no power to pursue them.

I admire her for the courage to put the black history behind and come back to China to build her wealth. It's not easy to do business in China if you are used to the way democratic countries do business. In China, Vietnam, you have to feed every Government officials so that they will leave you alone to run your business. And you have to know someone too, to help you bribe the corrupted government officials. Not easy. She seems very genuine. Much admiration to her.

@halaambe6 жыл бұрын
joe mama so what is wrong with that?
@ian32366 жыл бұрын
Joe Mama, listen carefully to what they said. They called her the steve jobs of the architecture world. First thing is steve jobs was only a visionary and design focused. The actual heavy lifting and coding came from his team of coders and wozniack who actually made it work which some would argue was a lot harder too do. Someone like bill gate who did the coding himself and the early vision himself. So she is very much like Steve Jobs but for the architecture world. Just looking at the building she made compared to the normal building projects and you can see the massive difference. Maybe you are not interested in the architecture world so you look down on her title as not as visionary as Steve.

Madam Lesley Stahl, the world we inhabit is quite enormous and please be mindful there are 195 countries within it, America is not the only country. Only one of many. And the so-called "American dream" is done, over, gone. Folks in China that are doing well economically should be referred to as Chinese Dream, and Africans doing well in Africa are referred to as the African Dream. Either country has anything to do with America. Furthermore, America is no longer set the tone in the world stage. We don't live in the past the world has moved on.
