From what i hear it seems like most of the *Cao Cao* army was weak, the only one taken seriously is *Xiahou Dun* and he's only powerful in video games. Based on history Xiahou Dun lost most of his battles but in video games hes shown as being stronger than LuBu, Lui Bei, Zhang Fei & (the 3rd brother whose name starts with a G). I hear that none of LuBu's 3 adopted fathers were biologically related to him and he was the son of a woman that was raped by a Xiognu or Xinjiang man who was a ancestor of mongols and huns.

@@SwagokuLion You really should read the book or watch the 2010 version tv. Cao Cao's army was the strongest and united China in the end. Cao Cao wanted to capture Zhao Yun alive and that's why he could run away from the army.

Huang Zhong killed Xiahou Yuan in a duel at Mt.Ding Jun to secure land in Han Zhong. Both of these men were skilled archers Xiahou Yuan was one of Cao Cao's cousins was essential in the development of Cao's army, highly accomplished general. Huang Zhong was general who formerly served Han Xuan. A master Archer and bladesmen it was said he went 100 bouts with Guan Yu but was spared. Later going to serve Liu Bei as a 5 Tiger general.

While Zhuge Liang went to pacify the southern land, it was Ma Chao that stayed behind to guard Hanzhong against Wei's force. Upon seeing Ma Chao in Chengdu, Liu Zhang decided to open the gate and surrender to Liu Bei. Thats how scared he was. Not to mention he was one of Shu's 5 tiger generals.

well roughly historically zhao yun's birth year is not known, but he died pretty late later than liu bei or guan yu or zhang fei( and supposingly zhao yun should be just a little bit younger than them) oh and people do live to that age back then, given if they are richer and better nutritioned the short lived people are usually the poorer pesands

@Puolakanaho apparently it's one of the old ways how chinese army fights. they have the generals duel first, if one side has a significant superiority, then the other side will usually retreat, for they will probably lose or even if they win, it's not going to be worth it.

@Puolakanaho One-on-one fights, like this, were actually quite common back then but seem tedious to us now. (When I encounter these kinds of fights when playing Dynasty Warriors, unless the enemy already has low health, I always get out of the circle, which causes a melee then kill the enemy officer in the melee.)
