The one common thing I got from watching him he was a straight shooter and did what he said his word was Gold

Elvis didn`t play Miami on July 4th 1970, but he did two shows there (matinee and evening), on Saturday September 12th 1970. Two sold out shows with 12,000 attending each concert, a total of 24,000 people. Being a sucker for FACTS, get them right. I also heard in another interview with Weintraub, that "200,000 people attended Elvis` four sold out concerts in Madison Square Garden in 1972". WRONG AGAIN! Elvis sold 80,000+ tickets for those four shows, approximately 20,000 (sold out) per show. Fairytale stories like this abound in Elvis` case, that`s why it is so confusing knowing what is wrong and what is right.

I googled elvis in miami, 1970 and you're right - no shows in July but yes, in September 12. It's good that people keep things honest. Regarding touring, Elvis wanted to tour the world, especially Japan. The Colonel stopped him from doing that. It's become clear as people investigated Colonel Tom Parker that: - he is not a real Kentucky colonel - he committed a felony in his home country - Amsterdam, if I recall - could be wrong - and would not leave the United States. So, poor Elvis is stuck in Vegas, drinking and drugging in his hotel room, while all the time he could have been having a ball touring the world! Colonel Parker would not have been allowed entry back into the US with a foreign felony warrant. And he sure as hell didn't want Elvis running around the world and maybe finding another manager. It's terrible. People ask why Elvis didn't say to the colonel, "either I tour the world or you're out". I read a few answers about Elvis being psychologically dependent on him for helping him rise to stardom, but that sounds wrong. Anyway, that's what I read over the years.

What is fact... Elvis is still the greatest performer of the last century and the next...you can't lie about his eternal voice, that's his greatest legacy....cheers...
