What an absolute joke. The real causes of most of our problems go.nack much further than the 1970's. The financial system was infected in the thirties. The bacteriotixins have been building io over time and have mow reached critical levels. And these charlatans hold a conversation in order to steer the solutions toward a band-aid instead of an antibiotic. We are about to go critical. And guys like Thiel are ready to run to New Zealand when the corpse won't pump any more blood. This is just so much more demoralization propaganda for anyone who can see the big picture. Hey Eric, I'd like to suggest something: Let's add some topic stamps to the video version of your podcast episodes to increase the ability for viewers to compartmentalize the entire episode; e.g. for the first topic a nice little textbox interface showing that you and your guest are talking about x or making arguments about why y is better than w, and so on. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this video, no as much as how much I expect from future episodes. Cheers.

"Nobody understood better than Stalin, that the true purpose of propaganda was neither to convince nor persuade, but rather to produce a uniform pattern of public utterance so that ANY dissent stood out immediately as jarring dissonance". Eric, I think you are making a mistake about the purpose of the narrative propaganda. You are still talking about the institutional narratives as if they are about convincing or attempting to persuade people. But what I see is much more soviet than that... We now are told Narratives that are patently ridiculous and stupid... and the REAL acid test is whether or not we unquestioningly repeat these falsehoods and absurdities... Those who do repeat them advance. Those who question these narratives are ground to bits by the pundit-ocracy.

I feel much more engaged with the ideas when a podcast has not only a video component, but also when the host and guest are in the same location. If they bother to meet each other, I feel more obliged to invest in their dialogue. Mr. Weinstein's strafing some of his competitors in this direction. I'm like, I looked for a KZbin version several days ago and couldn't find it. And now here it is, just posted half hour ago!!! Great 1st episode, I think I'll watch from now on!!!

@@howdydutt1e To be fair you have a good point, but the issues they've discussed, at least to me feel that they are high-impact enough if addressed, will significantly improve American lives (or everyones' lives, for that matter) - the stagnation of the economy since 1973 is one they should have covered more deeply.

I've seen both men talk for hours and hours in other videos before, but for me, last night was the 1st time to discover and watch this particular podcast. I am so glad I did though as it was refreshing and nice to hear people talk about something that I have thought about since the 90s but not really heard anywhere else or at least extremely rarely. Albiet a bit more "strongly", I put the sentiment in one of my novels in the following quote: “Why do we waddle and linger in the depths of suffering when history has proven technological progress has improved the quality of life for all. Sure, we progress, even still. But how much more progress could we make. With better focus. With better leadership. Why limp slowly along the trail of human destiny when you can race to it? The faster we go; the faster life improves as well.”

I can tell you this: the man should leave economic thought to economists. The idea that the Globalists or the "elites" want free trade is so comical it boggles the mind. These are things these people claim, not what they do. The "Gloabalists" want "free trade" for themselves and their friends.. they don't actually want it for the people... which is why you and I can't start a business and engage in anything we might consider to be free trade. They want "free trade" for multi-national corporations to take what they want from people who have no say in the matter because they lack property rights. That's not free trade, that's theft, but they use the euphemism of "free trade" and people like Weinstein buy it.
