In the Zhang fight, Wilder's jab wasnt fast, hard or effective. Those kind of jabs bust up an opponent , even southpaws, but what he is really missing is movement. No matter how people feel about Wilder, he wont be missed for his boxing skills or ring iq.

Wilder threw that fight. That first punch grazed his face maybe even poked him in the eye. When Wilder leaned to Zheng’s left and turned his back he also waived come here with his right hand. At this time Zheng began to charge Wilder hitting him with the flush right hook. As a boxing enthusiast Wilder did several things wrong. First being him stepping to Zhengs left hand. The other pawing at Zheng to find range, instead of jabbing off center to Zhengs right. Lastly Wilder should have never allowed Zheng to walk him down to the ropes. Wilders advantage is his size and speed, being that he was 70lbs lighter than Zheng. Zheng won and Wilder should retire. Wilder can only beat smaller heavyweights at this point in time. He wants to punch down and have the leverage.

I believe he has something in the tank, but styles makes fight and his style has been figured out. The fear that once was is no more, so fighters now see him as a benchmark to prove themselves.
