Hi Mishael, thanks so much for that feedback. I have a problem. I have too many gimbals. I can't imagine buying another gimbal, but if Moza sends me one to review, I just may... LOL. I think Moza Aircross 2 is a good competitor to the Weebill S at least on the power side. Portability though, is where Weebill S is absolutely killing it. If you travel a lot, Weebill S is so compact inside a backpack. If you don't travel at all , and if you like filming vertically, I can see Moza Aircross 2 being a good tool.

Hi I have been laboring to choose between the weebill s or ronin sc for my sony a6500 and sigma 16MM lense and a sony 18-105mm g power zoom lense. I read that the weebill doesn't support changing settings on Sony cameras? Is this only when using the phone app with the wireless transmitter or is it also with the on gimbal controls? Thanks for your help.
@SePark4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tommy, correct. It cannot change the Sony setting even with just the direct wire connection. I still sold my Ronin SC and chose Weebill S. If you haven’t seen it, I shared my thoughts on why I did that on the “long term” weebill S review. I think your decision will vary depending on your plan on upgrading to a full frame camera within next year also. 👍🤙😁

@@SePark thanks for responding. I don't think I will be upgrading within the yesr. Right now i used basically a Sony a6500 witb eithrr a sigma 16MM prime and a some g 18-105 power zoom lens (I think). It sucks we can't just get ronin sc fused with the weebill s. Ergo. Despite the Sony drawback, I was still leaning toward the weebill s for the ergo design with the low position handle. Howevrr i saw a video online of someone who recommended it but three later the joint locks broke and the weebill was also inconsistent in the build quality department. Have you had any issues with quality and the joint locks? I will be checking out your video you mentioned. Thanks and subscribed!

Tommy Lin thanks man! Haha if you are talking about Vu of NVu films review video about the lock axis, I work with the guy. Awesome run and gun filmmaker! He likes to transport his gimbal with the camera on in the car. Yes if you put a heavy setup and transport it in a car, the locking axis pin will probably break. I see that as a weak point and I always transport by just detaching they camera via the quick release system. Ronin SC locking axis pins are thicker but their quick release plate support is part plastic. Weebill S is all metal in that area. To me that part was more important. Long as you know the weak points and treat it well, I don’t think you’ll have problems in either gimbals. 😄
@tchlin4 жыл бұрын
@@SeParkGot it. Yeah no way I am transporting with the camera on and my setup isn't as big either. My electronics live a better life than I do. 😆 last question, and thanks for taking the time to help, i hear bad tbings about the software and support on the weebill s. Do you think the delta between the ronin sc and weebill s is so large that... let me rephrase.... is the software on the weebill s so bad that it takes away from it's positives and does it ever get frustrating to use? Of course I'm planning on getting the wireless transmitter also.

@SePark5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark! I noticed that too on certain occasions. I would usually heard these sounds from bigger gimbals with powerful motors, so it may be a characteristics of a higher torque motors. What's not okay for me is when the motor starts to vibrate gently. I did a 9 hour shoot yesterday with this gimbal, and I will talk more about this on my next gimbal video. In summary, my motors vibrated gently during certain angles, and I had to manually lower the power setting on the tilt axis.

@SePark5 жыл бұрын
Hi! For short term. Maybe... I usually ask "do you hope to get a full frame camera within next 3 years?" If so Weebill S is future proof. Gimbals just like a cell phone, they drop in value fast. You want to hold onto one for a long time rather than selling it every year. Ronin SC is a good stable gimbal for smaller setups, but you never know what kind of lens or camera will be released in the future. For me since Weebill S is stable enough, I plan on learning and getting used to it for a long time. Hope that thought helps!

It's my first gimbal for my mirrorless and I see myself keeping this for a long time. Do you know btw if there is a way to set a point A and B to do a hyperlapse? maybe through the app? My camera isn't natively compatible if that makes a diff
@SePark5 жыл бұрын
@@GadgetsGearCoffee that's why I am here. I have to talk to the Zhiyun rep regularly since they sent me one to review. :) You can still do a timelapse\hyperlapse without the camera being connected directly if you are doing one for a long period of time. I was just testing this today, but basically there is a feature called "trajectory photography" on the app. If you set your point A and point B with a large duration so that the gimbal doesn't move super fast, you could use that combined with your camera's intervalometer to get an interesting motion out of it. What kind of mirrorless camera do you have?
@GadgetsGearCoffee5 жыл бұрын
@@SePark I haven't gotten the app yet but I did go through the manual through QR code and didn't see anything about this. I'll check the app out at some point. The AB on the oled screen doesn't seem to be the same thing. Do you know what that is? And calibration isn't something you touch unless something is really messed up on the gimbal? The small angle adjustments too I find it hard to see if those truly make a diff I tried it out by 3 degrees didn't see anything change, it's like the gimbal resets itself anyway with the double tap trigger. And I have a Lumix G85
@SePark5 жыл бұрын
@@GadgetsGearCoffee the AB on the OLED screen is for the focus wheel (if you buy that separately). Calibration is something you use if all the axis is whacked after awhile. On my Weebill Lab, I never had to use it. The micro adjustments you can do on the roll and tilt axis is 0.0X degrees, so it's in very small increments. If the gimbal says "saving" it should work, but you can also do this on the app to confirm. G85 has a built in timelapse mode so you could use that with the gimbal long as your shutter speed is set fast and you give enough time inbetween shots (so night time timelapse will not be ideal). Whew! I think I answered most of your questions LOL... This does give me somewhat of an idea what to cover on my next couple of videos, so thanks!!

Great data! thanks!! I have a question regarding the usability, is it possible when using it in pan-tilt follow to use the joystick to move the center to what is it pointing at? like on Moza gimbals? Haven’t heard much on AK2000, but I think there is a huge value in being able to throw in a gimbal inside a bag and go anywhere. If you have bridal party portraits else where and you have to drive there real quick, bam, you can throw your gimbal in your bag, get to the site and be ready instantly. hey Kerk, general rule I would follow for the Weebill S would be to cap it around the total weight of A7 III and the 24-70 G Master. That total weight is 1536 grams. I got those weights from B&H website. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your awesome video like usual. I was really wanting to see a comparison of the weebill Lab and the S model. I have the lab and really don’t like how it randomly wiggles around a lot actually. It does good when I’m shooting slowly or in slow motion, but looking back at footage it’s cringeworthy on the slightest moves. I can’t believe how much $$ I spent on the weebill lab. Now trying to sell it for $200, so I can get the S. I like everything about it, just need more stability and the S seems like a great alternative. I’ll be looking forward to more videos amigo

Hi Justin, thanks for watching as usual! I feel you on the Weebill Lab. I bought it at full price - ouch! Changing the default sensitivity levels did help a lot on the Weebill Lab. I'm glad the app stability update did bring more value in having the Weebill Lab. We'll see if the image transmission module is much better on the Weebill S... 😁

Se Park I just preorder the weebill s cause of you. I was in the edge, but figured why not. I don’t even make videos that often, but having gear that performs well is essential in getting me more confident to pick up side gigs

Justin Brenn these products are sent to youtubers for free to review so you need to consider their bias towards every new equipment that comes out.. you only hear about issues with the old model when the new one comes out.
@SePark5 жыл бұрын
@@itsabodh I actually love your comment. Well put! Yes there is a sense of bias considering lot of us don't want to be ruthless in reviewing something we got for free. However, I only accept products if I know if it's going to be decent and I would buy it for myself. I rejected two companies this week for that reason. When I accepted the product from Zhiyun, I told them I will talk about the flaws if I can consistently prove the flaws. That tilted orbital move jerk was one of them, which made some people not purchase this gimbal, but I stayed true to what I told them. Like any KZbin videos, we should filter what we take in and be educated by more than one video. I'll keep including the cons and pros in my review videos regardless of if I get the product for free.
@itsabodh5 жыл бұрын
Se Park i really appreciate you for being honest to your subscribers because you being an SME, most of us follow your reviews and conclusion without testing themselves. I am just frustrated with my old weebill lab purchase because no one was talking about the flaws until now and i have spent many hours tweaking and figuring out why my footage is shaky just to know it was a common experience, now that the new version is out. So this time I have to purchase both Weebill S and Ronin SC to do some testing myself but I don’t even know how to test them besides trying my common moves

can you tell if a canon80D+24-105mmL can be handled in weight issue in Zhiyun Weebill S. I read that the canon 5dm4 with 24-70 II has no issues with this gimbal.
@SePark5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chen Kuan He, in the camera lens chart, it shows as being able to balance between 24-50 mm (if you are talking about the 24-105 mm F4 version). Its power level is over 9000!!!! Very impressive... 😁
@urbanrollerBA5 жыл бұрын
@@SePark so the lengh of zoom is the problem? but the weight isn´t right? I usually film in 24mm. If i use the camera + lents without zoom in or out ill be ok with stabilization and weight load ?
@SePark5 жыл бұрын
@@urbanrollerBA for that lens, you can still balance it when you zoom. Some gimbals, it gets too front heavy and shut down if you zoom and make the lens longer. The chart basically is saying you can still balance the lens just fine all the way up to 50mm. So you can't balance it at 105mm, but no one really gimbals at 105mm.. LOL. Just like you said, you would usually use gimbals at a wide angle focal length like 24mm. 24-50 mm sounds fairly practical to me, and this gimbal will handle that weight. :)

I'm looking at getting my first gimbal and I noticed the Ronin SC has "active track 3.0" which allows you to lock onto a subject. This looks like it might be a handy feature for newbies like me so our subject stays in the middle of the shot. Does the Weebill S have something similar?
@SePark4 жыл бұрын
Hi Max, yes if you get the Weebill S Image Transmission Pro Kit. However no gimbal's active track is perfect. Even on the DJI RS2, it can lose the subject while tracking and doesn't keep the subject in the middle all the time. If you fine tune the gimbal setting to your liking and practice, a little you can outperform any of these tracking methods. Also the older Ronin SC uses the cell phone's camera rather than the camera's image which doesn't give you the best experience. Hope that helps.
@madmax14124 жыл бұрын
@@SePark It certainly does. As mentioned, I'm new to using mirrorless camera as a video camera (used camcorders previously), so I have no idea on what the different modes are, and how to use them. Looking for something small but capable to record family events and small enough to carry around all day on a day's outing etc. Using Sony a6400 with Sony 18-105 lens but may buy primes later that don't have OSS.

Finally! I've been waiting for this review hahahaha. I have a serious qn tho! Because the new Weebill S just came out, the price of the Weebill Lab has dipped quite a bit here in Singapore! Weebill Lab - 293usd, Weebill S - 439usd I'm using a a6300 with a couple of Sigma/Canon lenses here and there. So it's a fairly light setup. Would you recommend getting the normal Lab, or the S? I just wanna know your thoughts! Would reaaaaally appreciate it!!

Haha, hey Dominick! Thanks for waiting patiently while I made this video. The question I usually ask is "do you plan on getting a full frame camera within next 2 years?". If the answer is even slightly "yes", then Weebill S is the way to go. It's very future proof since we keep seeing different Sony glass being announced every quarter. Yes, Weebill Lab is much cheaper now but Weebill S is identical in size with so much improved details. It solves so many little issues that Weebill Lab had, this may be my new favorite gimbal even for smaller cameras. Hope that helps with your thinking! :)

I don't get creators favouring Weebill S over RSC when RSC clearly provides better stabilization which is the primary purpose of these gimbals or am I missing anything here? scalability is a non issue as 90% folks watching this video are casual users and don't change camera setups every other years.. they just need stabilized videos on their entry level DSLR/mirrorless setup..
