Sousa and tuba is never intended to have any melody unless it’s a solo piece, or unless there is like a marching or concert band piece that is a low brass feature. Or unless your in like Walt Disney orchestra or in like college level symphony bands 😂. It’s intended to just have the low bass sound, range, and tuning lol. I’ve played instruments from the top to the bottom of any score, and depending on each instruments range and tone depends on they’re purpose. I don’t really think flute or trumpet is meant to have a low bass background for any type of piece of music 😂🤣

I was amazed at all the counterlines happening during the trumpet chorus. I’m usually so infatuated with the melody that I never listened to everything underneath. Amazing transcription! (just a tip, whenever you have two dotted quarters in a row, make the second one an eighth tied to a half to show beat three. It looks much cleaner that way and you did it a couple times but it wasn’t consistent)
@ZHL2426 жыл бұрын
I purposely didn't tie it to half notes because they always dropped off the note before the and of four
@ZHL2426 жыл бұрын
But yeah noticing those countermelodies in the last verse was really cool
@drakep2716 жыл бұрын
I think you mean eighth tied to a quarter, not a half
@spnkr99326 жыл бұрын
SeanFateStar NK if you listen with head phones on electronics it’s easier to hear the other parts too
@markdatton13485 жыл бұрын
those undertones are dope. also i think that since the whole thing kind of is like a beat and then a stretched beat, using a dotted quarter and then 2 beats with an and at the end, it makes more sense, otherwise it kind of loses the feel of the music

How many years do you play? I play 7. And my highest note I can reach is E above the staff. How do you say that? Is it triple or double? It's pretty high though
@Appri5 жыл бұрын
@@xristos1812 I played since 5th grade, and I now am in tenth. Five years is not that much, but its a triple F. (Not counting the below scale, lower than the tuning C.) Just try not to pinch, faster air, higher tongue, and practice lets u hit it. The F isn't stable either, I can hit it only 80% of the times.

I studied trumpet in college. Played the saxophone throughout middle and high school, and I learned all positions on the trombone in summers between. So I watch these videos and I love going along with all the fingerings or positions with whoever has the melody. I just can’t do the tuba, never learned that one, mouthpiece was way too big lol. And ledger lines below the staff, can’t read anything below a g in treble clef haha.
