Welcome to Zhou Shen's family. FYI, all Zhou Shen's performances have not been autotuned whatsoever and he always sings with a full open mic which not so many artists will do nowadays because of their abilities. By the way, you only listen to 1% of Zhou Shen's talents based on this video. To tell you a bit about Zhou Shen's background. He is from China. He can sing over 12 different languages which included Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Russian, Ukraine, Polish, Japanese, Hindi, French, Italian, Thai, Spanish, etc. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names like a sissy or he sounds like a woman etc. because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now all around the world. He studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to study Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce them to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is extremely good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy. His music has so many different genres. If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your soul. Thank you for your reaction. Yes, you are right, Zhou Shen used super mario's sound effects in the music, and the song talks about a knight saving a princess from a dragon. In the song, he performed the roles of the knight, the king, the narrator, and the dragon. Actually the original song was written for a virtual singer, which made it very difficult for real singers to sing, but Charlie did an amazing job!!

IT is unfortunate that there aren't english subtitles. He's portraying four different characters, though he could voice every character in an anime. Because his voice didn't drop much during puberty he got teased in school. He went to college to study to be a Dentist, but was convinced to change majors to music after someone heard him sing. Now he is one of China's biggest singers. So many great performances, many in english.

I liked this song so much when I first watched it that I found a video where there was english subtitles, though it didn't have the performance on screen, and I copied it by hand. I then added it to a downloaded video of this performance. It was tricky to match the lyrics with the singing as I don't understand a word of mandarin... but now I have a nice little video on my pc with english subs that I can watch whenever I want. 😁(just a pity I can't upload my subtitled version on KZbin... for so many reasons.)

There are so many Zhou Shen songs to recommend, many have already been suggested in the comments, Ring the Doorbell, Monsters, Unraveled, Song of Heaven Island (this has a few titles), but I’d strongly recommend ‘Haun Yan’, as this was his first appearance on a tv show, up to this point his voice was getting a lot of internet attention in China, but he had been too self conscious to reveal himself. I hope you come to love and appreciate Zhou Shen as much as the millions of us around the world who have been entranced by this beautiful, versatile and truly gifted singer. Enjoy!

It is from an animation and Zhou Shen sings most of the characters in it. He tells the story of a princess that is kidnapped by a dragon and rescued by a young sword-bearing hero who has to battle all sorts of difficulties before slaying the dragon and successfully bringing her back to her father, the king, along with the treasure the dragon was guarding. The king is so happy that he allows the hero and the princess to marry. In time they have a baby. The hero, the dragon, the town and the princess all have very long difficult to pronounce names and these become part of each chorus in a question and answer format: 'My name is ******* ******* *******', 'Did you say ******* ******* *******?', 'Yes it is ******* ******* *******', 'Say that again', 'I said ******* ******* *******'. 😂 Since everyone in the story has very long names, they decide to call the baby a short nickname. The narrator says it's full name is too difficult to pronounce and he doesn't even want to attempt it 😆 Zhou Shen acts as the narrator of the story, with a more ordinary sounding narration voice from all the others. He also sings as the princess, the hero, the king and the dragon (and of course the crying baby at the end). He is brilliant. He totally nails every character and changes voices so fast. Magnificent performance and one of my favourites from Zhou Shen. He is very versatile and also sings songs from musicals/popera (selecting songs from all around the world in different languages), straight pop, Chinese ballads and more. I think he can sing basically anything he puts his mind to. His English and Italian pronunciations in songs are pretty much perfect and he sometimes mixes the languages in one song. To hear something different by him, please react to Time To Say Goodbye in his audition for The Singer 2020. It's in Italian and English and is absolutely stunning. This was performed for Singer 2020 episode 8. The very first performance he did for episode 1 of Singer 2020 was 'Big Fish'. It is an amazing and beautiful ballad (I suggest checking out the translation beforehand to feel the depth of the song). 'Big Fish' is also the song that he is most known for. (p.s. To listen to this song as first reaction without any background knowledge why this performance is loved by many fans was not the best idea. ;-) There is a version with English CCs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3yQZ5-jnM-Fa6M This is a song about a video game and tells a typical fantasy role playing story. It's just a fun song but it is special for two reasons: - Zhou Shen sings each character in a different voice. There is a little girl, the hero, the king, the narrator and the dragon (not counting the baby and the princess at the very end of the song). - The characters have ridiculously long names. E.g. the young hero is called „Dalabengba Bandebeidi Buduobiluweng“. All the names are basically nonsensical Chinese tongue twisters. This song was originally written for and sang by Vocaloids (a singing voice synthesizer software product). The song was never meant to be sung by a human. To remember and sing these long names at fast speed (as the song progresses) is a very difficult task. Zhou Shen was taking a risk to perform this song on a competition show. Well, he started on "The Voice of China", similar to "The Voice" in the states, singing "Huan Yan" in 2016. This song Dalabengba is quite new, which is a challenge for him to do a song from an anime story based on computer voice generated song. He is talented.
