The deer horn knives are very special. In the hands of a master they can change from short, to medium, to long range weapons and with the constantly changing tornado movements found in Baguazhang, you essentially become a blender. The same can be said for the Bagua Da Dao.

Bagua never really made sense until my most recent teacher put the Deer Horn Knives in my hands. Now I am beginning to see....although it will likely take me thirty years to truly "get it".

@@yangshen5540 the core movements of the deer horns are a combo of snake winding/overturning and sparrow darting around. If you’ve ever observed a bird trapped in a building. They will dart around the ceiling looking for the exit.

Those knives are perfect for bagua. No need to change any hand techniques, if anything hooking and catching are easier. Wonderful.
