Zhu Qizhen, the only good thing he did for Ming was abolishing live burials and had a good son; the Chenghua Emperor Zhu Jianshen.

I saw a part where he was the ming empror and leading his soldiers at a bloody vicious war. He acted really furious. He is a good war/soldier/ commander. Hope Yixing trys a new path by translateing his historical drama into english by voice over/dubbing them.

And general Shi lost. Qizhen saved his family and ensured 200 years of Ming rule, all he did is justified, he was a real man who took initiative and saved his people. As Cao Cao once said, I would rather betray the world than let the world betray me.

What he did wasn’t wrong. There’s no difference between good and bad back then. If you want to install your name in history you had to be brutal. It’s a kill or be killed world at there. What he did was justified in the way that if he did nothing he would’ve ended up dead himself.

看到这里，想到全剧开头，若微还是个小女孩的那一幕，才感觉这部剧的剧情，还真是很用心的 很多人说这部剧英宗代宗的这几段就不好看了。也有说把孙若薇写成靖难遗孤，景清的女儿有点扯...或许吧，但我觉得正是这种设定才精妙地体现了这部剧真正的主旨，那就是控诉封建专制皇权之下，对于家庭，情感的摧残，对于人性的磨灭，以及纪念那些在争夺皇位的过程中无辜受牵连的受害者们 朱祁镇发动夺门之变，处死于谦等景泰重臣，和朱棣发动靖难之役，后来杀害方孝孺，景清等建文重臣，本质上是一件事，那就是（朱家人）争夺皇位，牵连众多他人（不少算是无辜，而且不少也是有才能的人）的故事。这里，夺门之变和靖难之役的场景也拍得十分相似：新皇帝登基，将士们持着武器逼迫大臣们叩迎（承认）新皇帝，负隅顽抗者当场残忍杀害或迫害... 看到这里也能理解为何孙若薇会大喊“不要”，然后在得知自己的儿子还是处死了于谦之后会有如此大的反应也可以理解了。或许她想起了小时候靖难朱棣登基的场景，只不过，当时的她作为女儿，父亲是受害者；后来的她作为母亲，儿子是施害者。但她终其一生，尤其是作为朱瞻基的心上人，同时也作为朱高炽的儿媳兼“小秘书”， 她为避免靖难的悲剧重演为这对在这个问题上和她或多或少志同道合的父子奉献了青春，甚至是一生，这种似曾相识却又转换了角度的场景，我想谁都难以接受吧

Technically it's still the lineage of Zhu Yuan Zhang. It is better than Song Dynasty whereas none of the emperor of Northen Song era were the descendant of Emperor Tai Zu of Song, Zhao Kuang Yin as they are all descendants of Zhao KuangYin's brother, the second emperor, Emperor Tai Zong of Song, Zao Jiong. Not only until the Sountern Song period then the ministers made the descendant of Tai Zu，Emperor Xiao Zong of Song as their ruler and by then it was 167 years already.

Ming Dynasty is the greatest in Chinese history. Let me enumerate the reasons. 1st is the Zhu Family NEVER offered princesses to be married to barbarians (ehem Han ehem Tang). 2nd is 250+ years of internal stability. The overrated Tang experienced An Lushan rebellion mere 130 years after its founding. 3rd is TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY (ehem Song). From Hongwu to Chongzhen, the provinces are intact. Ming successfully defended itself from Mongols, Japanese, Khampa Tibetans, Portuguese, Dutch etc. 4th is Ming never offered tribute to northern barbarians (ehem Song). 5th is Ming traded with Europeans on China's terms (ehem Qing). The Portuguese, Spaniards, and Dutch made do with what the Ming authorities gave them.
