Yo zigzag, yt short/tiktok video idea for you and i think itll be a banger. Basically, if you didnt know, the semifinal game of the EMEA Regionals between Kodiak and Kratsooo may have been decided by a game of rock paper scissors. You see, both players had to listen to the same music/playlist for their game for tech reasons and Kodiak wanted music with lyrics but Kratsoo really did not because he thought he wouldnt be able to focus. The two played Rock Paper Scissors to settle this and Kratsooo ended up winning, resulting in them both having to listen to music with no lyrics. Kratsooo did end up winning this SF game and I think a KZbin Short/TikTok explaining this for Gen Alpha attention span could do really well: "Did you know that the semi final game of a Geoguessr Championships potentially came down to a game of Rock Paper Scissors?"

As someone whos from Latvia, I rewatched Blinkys gameplay to see what made him guess up north. First that map definitely came in clutch because it showed the northern coast line (you can see Riga is at the bottom of the map) and then there are some little prominent things that say it isnt the capital, such as that brown sign he saw last before guessing (at 13:30 ). Those are usually found outside of the capital because they point to known landmarks. Plus Riga doesn't match the landscape.

i was sitting in the aisle row behind the blinky flag, someone who i assume was working for his social media/fanbase was kneeling next to them and filming trying to catch the end as after the first two rounds everyone just assumed it was over. by the end his knees were just completely done, kept making jokes about bringing him a pillow. mk was super underrated though, even if he plays on the metas not everyone likes it still made for an awesome series that obviously no one was expecting

It’s actually hard not to consider if it was all staged but obviously we know it wasn’t and also we know it happens like this in sports - when one thing goes right for a losing, underdog player, they can then often somehow find incredible new strength and win or almost win

I think the multi rounds show how fundamentally wrong the guessing system is for competitive play. Imo the players should be able to draw a radius guess where the bigger the radius the smaller the maximum score but you are incentivized to hedge your probabilities and getting the place inside the radius

I immediately felt like it was a bait french round at the time as a french and would go just behind the border in Germany where those houses are also common (but not as far as the point was). Blinky was probably too stressed to see that but I think as a french with no pressure he would have got that. Pressure is underrated
