Jack misread the map at 6:29, the darker the colour the MORE people are getting LESS than 7 hours of sleep per day. I'd assume this is because the east has more cities and hence more 9-5 style office jobs compared to the more agricultural jobs out west.

I am from Coruña and yes, the city is really small. You can walk from one side to another in 20-30 minutes. It's like a tiny peninsula that was widen to fit more people. And we have the oldest lighthouse, still functional, in the world. Hercules tower. Coruña (province) is were Santiago's cathedral is, where everyone walks to.

Sweden and Finland get more sunlight due to the specific heat capacity of land compared to water. Long story short, continental air masses tend to descend in winter, giving clear skies, whereas maritime climates are warmer and cloudier. Edit: due to their proximity to Asia/Russia. This is why easterly winds in the winter often bring the coldest weather to the Uk.

True and to add to that they are in a bit of a rain shadow from Norway. The west coast of Norway get a lot of rain so not as much falls on the other side of the mountain range. In the winter, the skies can be completely clear and northern Sweden and Finland would still have no sunshine... 🙂

I love the word spelk. For me it's a splinter that's tiny enough to get caught under your skin, or light enough when on fire to rise up from an open fire and fly up the chimney. Splinter seems to be a Dutch loanword but spelk goes back to Old English. It means a little "spill" - which is a thin stick used to carry a flame from one place or another, typically from the open fire to a pipe or cigarette when I was a kid in the 60s. You used to be able to by spills in boxes from tobacconists, and most people with an open fire had a box on their mantlepiece.

In the the post "countries not self identified as democratic" at 0:39 , its still accurate, what do they mean is their system of government, I'm not a political scientist but based on my research and my logical thinking, they identify it because there are no legislatures in these countries, because these are emirates, and absolute monarchs and their are not elected, it's different from authoritarian countries because there are legislatures and they are elected by the people

We get less sunlight in the UK for the same reason we get less extreme weather. We're kept temperate by the North Atlantic Current (amongst other things).

Not being a democracy doesnt mean you are a dictatorship. There are many forms of governance. Democracy is one of them and a dictatorship is one of them. However, there are things like monarchies, oligarchies, etc.
