I don't agree with his comments at all. Just terrible comment. This match was held 3 days after Serie A 1R against Reggiana. It was time when all the Italian media had doubts about Zidane, who unimpressed at Euro 96. As you can see in this video, Zidane was not yet in Trequartista by Marcello Lippi. he mainly stayed in Regista. and also not many lost ball, not many pass miss. On the other hand, Zizou was excellent. Let's suppose he played the same performance after Serie A 6R vs Inter Milan. Maybe Italian media would have praised him.

@@ZidaneVideo372 Oh no, I'm not doubting here Zidane's perfomance, I'm doubting here vision and understanding of his performances by media, which I often see nowadays when going deep through Zidane's biography. But also true, that on videos like that, you cannot see all things that has happened and judge it correctly. I didn't saw that match in it's time, I guess, but also remembering, what was MU like those days, and how Juve destroys it in that match (what you don't see on the score, but it was total domination, in terms of shots - 14:1. And it is impressive enough, that Zidane had this his zidanesque pass in his very first Champions match.

Yeah Calcio in 90s mostly only give 6,5 ratings.. 7 was impressive... They dont buy any great performance and always find away to critics player... thats why in Calcio they always said, newspaper will killed you in monday morning if you played bad in the sunday 😅

It's funny that the journalist says Zidane doesn't want to hurt the ball... that's why he caresses it! That's Zidane touch. Italians then weren't used to it, but they would know very soon... In that particular game, I don't find him very shy, because he takes the responsability of the game as a regista, and his distribution of the ball is excellent.
