(Ziggy); sure thing, the feeder I've chosen has a 60% braid, since the antenna already wants to harmonize on the fundamental, being a 40, we miss on some harmonics, mainly 30 17 & 12. By allowing the resonator to come into and out of circuit upon demand (frequency dependent) we almost have a "dipole" for 80 with a 40 wire, enabling enough of a harmonic to occur, for Operation. 40, 30, 20, 15, 12, 11 & 10m bands with a 66' harmonically and impedance tuned transformer.

Love your work. As one of those preparedness minded folks I'm very interested in the 75 OHM coax idea. Plus I mean I find thousands of feet of coax at thrift stores for like 6 bucks all the time.

great show with Ziggy !! look at 1/2 wave dipole at 20 meters mounted 1/2 wave high and center fed. it is 72 ohm. years back 75 ohm more common because tubes like tune wider impendence. vacuum tubes are higher impendence than transistors. why 75 ohm feed line was more common in ham radio. yes the past few days the 10/11/12/15 meters has been way down and NVIS at times. no DX. I got nothing 500 watt FT8. I found with end fed half wave if you mono band they wide band better and get out and receive better. I ground mount veritable with ground plain. 49:1 with FT 240-61 with tap at 2 turns. great DX antenna . 2 cores handle 500 watts FT8 and 1 KW SSB . that 10/12/15 meters. mono band wire cut. I get 10/11/12 on same wire with fold back tune at end. will do like 2 bands at once if over lap. a week ago banging DX on 10/12 meters FT8 and 20 watts got me DX. I have M & P 75 ohm coax like RG11 and that all copper. will try that on 9:1 see if tunes better. I have a IC 7300 and have to E-tune on 9:1 at 50% power or less. I know the green core 4:1 does better . Try 75 ohm coax with that. you need a ATU or manual tuner anyways. the closer the coax impendence is to the UNUN or Balun the less feed line loss. I can drive around on trash day and get free 75 ohm coax. I want Ziggy to wind my 3 stack of FT 240-61 cores with 10AWG mag wire 49:1 . 2:14 turns . not looking forward to that wind. full 1.5KW . and I have 7.5 KV 100 PF door knob cap. have all but box and ferrite. 73's

@@75ohmHAM in the same way you cant light a light bulb with one wire, you cant put power into an antenna with one connection. With end fed antennas the "other" wire/connection that completes the circuit is not obvious, its the stray capacitance to the environment and objects in the vicinity that allow it to work. This can be extremely variable and inconsistent and so the antenna performance can be unpredictable. A counterpoise is a more obvious way to complete the circuit, but now you DONT have an end fed, not really.
